kiki's grossed out face
i love kiki's face in this , she was sooo grossed out....i can' t wait to post pictures of them loving on their new pets, the earthworms that they dug up in the mud...seriously, they pet them and hold them for hours and pumpkins gutts grossed them out....go figure!
grandma's visit!
i forgot to post pictures from tom's mom's visit...we had soo much fun, i wanted to put all the pictures in one alblum before i posted...but here is one of my favorites of the week! the girls had the funnest week with her!! we went shopping (yea! winter clothes) and to the zoo, 6 flags, fall festival, and tons of resturants...the girls were spoiled sooo much!! thanks, karen, we miss you already!!

i like this picture because the look on halle's face only begins to capture how in love with herself she really is. this is her birthday morning, wearing her new dress from granny carol (her southern granny from church) and just knowing that the whole world revolves around her.

Halloween week
we had a really fun halloween week...by the time halloween came we were exhausted!
Tuesday was dress up day for dance class, halle wore a ballet costume (usually they have to wear a plain leatard), she looked fancy and was soo excited to wear make up and sparkles on her face! On wednesday, we went to another church's fall festival....this is one of the biggest churches in town, so they go all out for their FREE fall festival! this is the third year in a row we've crashed it. they had pony rides, at least 5 different bounce houses, carnival games, train rides, hay rides, popcorn, hotdogs, cotten candy, boiled peanuts. we stayed for over 2 hours, but it got dark and with hundreds of people....way to crazy for me to watch the girls at...it was fun and we saw all our friends there!
on thursday my friend had her annual (3rd year now) Halloween party at her house...she got pizza and everyone brought food as well....yummy food and lots of fun. the kids love seeing their friends dressed up and she had some cute crafts for them to do!
On friday evening we went to a high school football game....it was fun, the girls liked the cheerleaders, but we still had to leave early because the week was tiring them out!
On saturday we crashed another church's fall festival, our neighbor invited us to her church's party! they had a few bounce houses, carnival games (that gave out tons of good candy:) hot dogs and funnel cakes....the funnel cake just made my halloween one of the best ever! after that we came home and trick or treated around our neighborhood, then all the neighbors met back at the clubhouse for a party!
we had a really fun halloween week!

kiki will eat candy in front of you and say..."you want some?" and you say yeah. and she steps away from you eats it as fast as she can and then laughs in your face and says, "its all gone, its all gone!"

Birthday Week!
Monday was halle's birthday....tom was on call that day, so we had most of the day to be together! We started out that morning opening some presents. Halle asked for dangle earrings. we got her some and an earring holder, a purple H throw pillow (and a K for kiki), and a tinkerbell lamp. Her Southern Granny from church got her a fancy blue dress that she LOVED! Grandma was in town last week to spoil her ahead of time and my mom sent a package early too, which we opened the week before...which had the only other 2 things halle asked for : a purple teddy bear and a tinkerbell shirt....grandma also sent a purple barbie, its weird looking, but halle sleeps with the teddy bear and barbie every night :)
after presents we went to the pumpkin patch and let the girls each pick out a pumpkin. then we asked halle where she wanted to go for lunch, she picked sticky fingers, which barely beat out the waffle house, me and tom were both happy about that!
that afternoon we colored the pumpkins, went shopping for party supplies and went to tumbling that evening, the class sang happy birthday, and ruthie brought her a present! tom also told them that daddy long legs don't bite and let them crawl all over the girls (there are quite a few around our house)....i had always told them when they see one they should just step on it, now it has grossed me out all week that the girls love to play with them....yuck
that night we had family home evening...the lesson was on keeping the sabbath day holy, we talk about this a lot since chucky e cheese is on our way to church....i just told her that it was closed on sundays because people go to church on sunday...this sunday halle said, mom, its not closed if there are cars in the parking lot :)
tuesday we carved the pumpkins, kiera couldn't stand getting her hands dirty..."i don't like pumpkin guts, its stinky!" ....we cooked the seeds and took them to ballet class for her friends to try. that night we left halloween treats on our some of our neighbors door steps, knocked and ran to hide and then watched them get it from our hiding spot...we left a cute poem that they've been hit by a ghost and a ghost picture to hang on their door and that they have to do it to 2 neighbors...we did it to 5 neighbors, assuming some might be party poopers...one of halle's friends across the street had the windows opened so we couldn't leave it :(....halle picked 5 people in the neighborhood, a couple friends and the lady with the most flowers, aka, prettiest house, according to halle....it was one of the funnest nights...halle was freaking out she was so excited and with the rush of adrenaline from running house to house, she was ready to burst. we will do it again next year! halle did manage to see a couple neighbors out on our walk the next day and ask them if they got a treat on their door step, so much for secrets......it was fun to see some of the ghost pictures on people's doors later in the week!
wednesday we went to dauset trails, a wilderness type zoo place of rescued animals, its free and fun, but 45 min away , so we dont' go that often....we stayed for about 4 hours, with ruthie and peggy and some other friends from church....the girls had a blast and we all came home exhausted!
today we went on a walk, visited our neighbor who has lots of cats, the girls loved it, hung out with our other neighbors, played at the playground, and got ready for the party tomorrow...one of our really nice friends made halle a tinkerbell cake for her birthday...it was kinda a surprise, so i still have a cake i made too....they are different so it will be fun to have two cakes at the party...the friends cake has a tinkerbell doll in it, so halle was thrilled! i took a picture, its really cute....i have some really sweet friends here!

we got kiera and halle both a step ladder/stool so they can cook with me...they LOVE to stand on the stools and help me cook...they are good about doing jobs i ask them too and watching without touching certain things, its been a lot of fun. i bought them both a potato peeler and they LOVE to peel carrots and things...they love to smell the spices and guess what it is, halle is pretty good at it. and their favorite is when i have a lot of ingredients out on the counter and i give them a bowl and spoon and let them create something....halle will say stuff like "i make a greaaaaat soup".....if she can get a lot of sugar and oats in it, its edible (and yes, we all have to eat what she makes)....once she put in too much salt, water, and soggy bread crumbs....we all faked eating it....halle took a bite and said, "this one didn't turn out so good" and kiera sat there and ate it....i sorta wanted to throw up watching it , but it was sweet at the same time, just doing whatever halle tells her too. :)
i put kiki down for a nap, then i heard music coming from her room, i opened the door to find her dancing in the middle of the room, i said, "what are you doing?"...she looked up at me and said, "opps, sorry" and got back in bed. :)
i was telling tom about a playdate that went awry....halle overheard and said, "sometimes she's not a nice friend, when i am with her she always disappoints me"...me and tom both laughed.
i can remember when halle was younger then kiki, she used to ask me to repeat words so she could say them correctly, i would say look at my mouth, she would watch it very closely and mimic it...she spoke very articulate for her age. so kiki talks a lot, but often sounds like an alien to me ( some of this is the high pitch and volume she speaks in)....it doesn't bother me, but i thought the other day, i thought i would try saying "look at my mouth" to see if she would mimic me....i had a sucker, she said, "i wanna wick (lick)"...i said, "say lick" she said, "wick"...i said, look at my tongue, lllllick....she looked at me and "i don't care, mommy, i don't care"....so, thats the last time i try that, i'm sure it will work its way out.....

halle did this with her body for a long time, so i decided to get some of it on video, she is so silly. you can hear kiki laughing while being tortured, i mean tickled by tom.... (video is the one above this post)
halle found a catapillar at the zoo, the next day it made a cacoon, we, me, as much as the girls, are sooo excited for it to turn into a butterfly we even brought it to dance class to show her friends....finding the catapillar was way more exciting then any animal at the zoo...halle said quite a few times, "this is the happiest day of my life!"

Life size cabbage patch doll
some days, i can' t believe how lucky i am to get to snuggle with this little doll....and she is such a snuggler!
after this photo was taken, i bedazzled this outfit....its so stinkin cute!

this is the stray cat that the girls tortured, i mean, played with....here it is wrapped in a heavy damp blanket.....Me, "halle, do you think I look like you and kiki?"
Halle, "no, because you have a football shape head and me and kiki have soccer ball shape heads"

kiki dropped her bag of crackers on the street while we were getting into the car...in a parking spot, downtown, on the side of the road, i had to hurry to get the girls in the car, so i couldn't pick them up or explain to her that they were dirty, ....of course, my unsympathetic actions totally hurt kiera's feelings.....she whimpered the whole way home..."mommy, you hurt my feelings, say sorry"... me, "sorry, kiera" (she was tired, and not appologizing to kiera when she's tired can be ugly)....we did this back and forth for about 10 min...finally halle, who gets over stuff quickly, couldn't take it anymore, the next time kiki said, 'say sorry', halle said, "she said sorry already, kiki, she doesn't need to say it again!!!"

wild adventures
a while back , we went to wild adventures, it was a bout a three hour drive, so tom took a day off work so we could go on a weekday....
we had soo much fun, its an amuesment park, plus they have tons of animals like the zoo.
halle quotes :
halle, "mommy, why did you just call daddy, daddy? his name is tom."
me, "i can call him daddy"
halle, "no, you can call him tom, he's not your daddy."
halle often makes up words if she doesn't know something and teaches it to kiera, i think it makes her feel smart, but its annoying to me because kiera trusts her and repeats it.
after one incident:

halle, "yes it is a dfkajkfjdka;jk"
me, "no halle, its not"
halle, "yeah, it is mom, i looked it up online"

spiderwoman
i bought superhero dress ups a few months ago at a yard sale, i couldn't resist for a dollar a peice, although i figured the girls would never wear them (boys come for playdates and like them)
halle finally gave in and put one on the other day....we have fashion shows in our hall, the girls go in the room, shut the door and then i announce them and they strut down the cat walk..."lets play fashion show!" thats what they call it.....
anyways, halle came out in this the other day, i laughed as she struted down the hall in heels (i guess she had to still feel like a woman)....at the end i told her to pause for a picture, her "mean" face cracked me up!
the twins!
halle calls them the twins, i told her 3 was triplets, but since she knows more then me, she insists they are twins....their names, angelina, alice and isabella...
she loves taking care of them, mostly they nap, like this, in her room!
ballet
another day of ballet! over the past 3 years of yard sale shopping i have accumulated about 10-15 different leatards....halle loves to wear a different one every time! i even started to bedazzle them and they look so cute!

this is the girls right before ballet....kiera likes to dress up for ballet too...but since there are no windows...we cannot watch what halle is doing, so kiera is not jealous....she actually enjoys our one on one time, i bring books or crayons...
seeing halle in ballet makes me so happy....its like a dream come true for her, she loves it so much and is so excited for her recital, she has been talking about being on stage in front of people and dancing and having people throw roses at her for over a year!
the bigger the better!
halle thinks the bigger the smile, the cuter the face, and the less likely i will be to get upset with her...its a great theory, it usually works! when she gets out of bed at night after i've put her to sleep...she comes and finds me and makes this face, it usually does make me laugh....sometimes if she asks for something and i say no, she'll make this face, and of course, i cave!
the zipper!
this was a kids version of the zipper...the cages didn't spin....the girls had so much fun, it was one of their favorite rides, they felt so cool in there by themselves, thats them in the very top one.
six flags!
we bought season passes to six flags , we went on saturday and monday over labor day weekend...we spent about 8 hours there each day....we are so excited to go back, the girls loved it and me and tom had a great time too!! luckily, it reopened quickly after the flooding since they have a lot of halloween stuff going on in oct.
the girls are both fearless and love rides! we even convinced our friends to buy passes too, so we can go with them and we all went on monday! the kids liked having friends...they have 2 boys, the same ages as our two girls!

kiera found this prince eric doll (who, at one time, had clothes) and held on to him for a few days, day and night....she fell sleep like this at 6 flags, i thought other people must think it looked strange...but since she thinks she is ariel, she is in love!

i put kiera to sleep, she snuck out of bed, took off her night gown and changed into this dress up dress, got back in bed and fell asleep....i found her like this and had to take a picture...this dress has the most poof of any dress we own...i had to strip her down in the middle of the night so she wouldn't overheat!

6 flags flooded in atlanta.....we just bought our 2009-2010 season passes a few weeks ago....just our luck....the halloween fright nights were supposed to open this weekend.....now what are we supposed to do...tom thinks it will still reopen in oct....i don't think it will.....i think the rides probably got ruined.....some of there rollercoasters are so scary, i don't trust them now....

KIKI and Halle
kiki puts the blanket on as a cape and runs around saying, "look at me, i'm superman"
i put kiki in a jean/denim jumper, that was shorts, really cute, but the first time she wasn't in something pink/purple/flowers, girly...she said, "look at me, i'm a boy"
halle has all our halloween costumes picked out, she loves the scary side of Halloween and insists on being a ghost, tom a pirate, me, a witch and kiera a vampire (due to her "compliments"on her sharp K9s)...everytime halle brings it up, kiki says, "no, i be ariel for halloween"...the other day, she said, "i be ariel, daddy be king triton, and mommy be ursala" (thanks a lot , kiki)
kiki gets up every morning and puts on our ariel dress up dress, even when i put her in pjs for naps or bed, she'll sometimes sneak out of bed, take off her pjs, put on her ariel dress and get back in bed...i've had to change her out of it late in the night when i find her like that, so she doesn't over heat.
kiki's favorite sayings when she's upset:
"be nice to kiki"
"say sorry!!" (everytime she's upset, its somehow my fault)
"listen to me!"
"you're not listening to me!" (halle says this a lot to her, halle gets frustrated that kiera ignores her or doesn't do what she says)
"no, i don't!" (in response to anything you ask her)
any time i break out in singing, which is often, i am always playing the primary songs while we are eating, we have tons of tapes in the playroom and i know a ton of songs from movies, ect....the girls will both tell me, no singing, please stop!....am i that bad??
halle's favorite things right now:
she loves to have you make books out of paper with her and then she dictates a story and likes you to write it and then you tell her the story back and she draws pictures for each page....then she likes to be read her stories at bedtime
she loves to draw...she draws all the time....i got her a clipboard, and she also draws in the cheap 15 cent notebooks from walmart, she fills them up with pictures...she loves to draw people and monsters , witches and pirates...she draws our family and then melanie's family and lynn's family the most...its fun that i can actatually tell what her pictures are now and she has improved sooo much over the past few months....she probably draws for a couple hours day, broken up. she usually draws to wind down in bed at the end of the night
she loves to write names of the people or animals she draws, she writes her favorite letters under the picture and then comes and asks me what the name is...its usually something like ello, or hohoa (fav letters are ones from her name)
she LOVES, LOVES to cut things with scissors, she cuts confetti all the time (of course, she never says its confettii, to her its invitations to her party, or letters to friends, ect)...its a messy hobby, but easy to clean up and i think its good for fine motor skills....
she has a GREAT imagination...she gets in what i call her "zone", which means a story is going on in her head, she gets a serious look on her face and starts moving quickly...and she starts organizing a whole scence, like filling a shopping cart with items for a campout and packing her babies up for the camping trip and then creating with blankets a camping scence...or she's imaging some sort of ball, sometimes i'm in on her schemes and other times she's playing by herself or getting kiera to go along with it...i am glad she has such a long attention span and good imagination
she loves older kids....she loves all the kids at church, a lot of them give kiera and halle attention, and they eat it up...halle and kiera know most of the kids at church by name...halle thinks she's got tons of friends and is really cool for knowing all them...one time she was surronded by a group of 10ish yrs old girls and i said what were you guys talking about and halle said, "they were just all talking about how cute i was"
she loves playing store and mommy/baby, where i am the baby and she's the mom, or kiera is the mom and she's the baby...this is one of my least fav activities....she'll put you to sleep, make you lay down, put a blanket on, read you a book, sing softly and just when you are actually dozing off for reals...she says "wake up!"....its torture
she loves her dance class sooo much!!! she especially loves to practice what she learned in tumbling...she loves to practice skipping, cart wheels and head stands, which she can do against a wall, by herself, its soo cute!
she likes to play uno and so do i!
she loves to get a laugh, she always says the funniest things, loves to tell a joke, make a silly face, dance like a weirdo, will moon me (who her taught her that?), before she puts her undies back on after using the bathroom, she'll never miss the opportunity to run out of the bathroom and say "hey mom!" and shake her butt at me.
she still loves purple, make up, earrings, doing her own hair, doing my hair, being naked, dancing
she is really excited about her tinkerbell party next month, she asked me dangily earrings, a tink shirt, and a tink toothbrush....easy requests to fill!

loves to introduce our family (got this from halle, halle loves it too), she says, "my name, kiki. dis, halle...dis, Lori....dis, tom" to everyone they meet
loves to demand things in a growl voice and i say, "say it nicer , please" and she says, "please" in the sweetest voice.
halle is her whole world and when they are apart for church class or ballet and then reunited, kiera can't stop hugging her and sayin, "i missed you , halle, i love you, i missed you"....if halle is crying , kiki is rubbing her back, "you ok, halle?"....if halle is upset, kiki will say, "say sorry mommy, you hurt halle feelings" (halle will do the same if i get upset with kiki)
kiera still pushes other kids, and is so used to time out, she'll even impulsively push and then go sit herself in time out against a wall.
she loves to snuggle, play playdough, do puzzles...she likes when i teach her things and then will be the "teacher" in return...."mommy, whats this" and then you say it and she says, "very good, mommy" (loves to mimic all of us)
very similar interests to halle so they play well together...but very different personality, kiki is very dramatic and intense, i have to try hard to be very calm and patient with her at times....
very , very silly....loves to be loud and weird to get a laugh out of us, loves to talk , non stop, very loud, loves to say, "look at me!" and do something to get you laughing
loves to fart and say, "i got the farts"
i put kiki in a jean/denim jumper, that was shorts, really cute, but the first time she wasn't in something pink/purple/flowers, girly...she said, "look at me, i'm a boy"
halle has all our halloween costumes picked out, she loves the scary side of Halloween and insists on being a ghost, tom a pirate, me, a witch and kiera a vampire (due to her "compliments"on her sharp K9s)...everytime halle brings it up, kiki says, "no, i be ariel for halloween"...the other day, she said, "i be ariel, daddy be king triton, and mommy be ursala" (thanks a lot , kiki)
kiki gets up every morning and puts on our ariel dress up dress, even when i put her in pjs for naps or bed, she'll sometimes sneak out of bed, take off her pjs, put on her ariel dress and get back in bed...i've had to change her out of it late in the night when i find her like that, so she doesn't over heat.
kiki's favorite sayings when she's upset:
"be nice to kiki"
"say sorry!!" (everytime she's upset, its somehow my fault)
"listen to me!"
"you're not listening to me!" (halle says this a lot to her, halle gets frustrated that kiera ignores her or doesn't do what she says)
"no, i don't!" (in response to anything you ask her)
any time i break out in singing, which is often, i am always playing the primary songs while we are eating, we have tons of tapes in the playroom and i know a ton of songs from movies, ect....the girls will both tell me, no singing, please stop!....am i that bad??
halle's favorite things right now:
she loves to have you make books out of paper with her and then she dictates a story and likes you to write it and then you tell her the story back and she draws pictures for each page....then she likes to be read her stories at bedtime
she loves to draw...she draws all the time....i got her a clipboard, and she also draws in the cheap 15 cent notebooks from walmart, she fills them up with pictures...she loves to draw people and monsters , witches and pirates...she draws our family and then melanie's family and lynn's family the most...its fun that i can actatually tell what her pictures are now and she has improved sooo much over the past few months....she probably draws for a couple hours day, broken up. she usually draws to wind down in bed at the end of the night
she loves to write names of the people or animals she draws, she writes her favorite letters under the picture and then comes and asks me what the name is...its usually something like ello, or hohoa (fav letters are ones from her name)
she LOVES, LOVES to cut things with scissors, she cuts confetti all the time (of course, she never says its confettii, to her its invitations to her party, or letters to friends, ect)...its a messy hobby, but easy to clean up and i think its good for fine motor skills....
