poor wesley

DSC08078, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

wesley couldn't even move in all his snow gear and then he was put on the sleigh to be dragged around by the kids. when he fell over, he was like a helpless turtle on his back. poor wesley!

me, "halle, why did God make mothers?"
halle, "because if you didn't have a mother you would be sad"

me, "halle, why did God send you to me to be your mother?"
halle, "because you're the nicest mother in the world."

of course, then , just to make me even happier, i asked her what made me nice and she said, "because you play with us all day"

me, "halle, what are three things that make you happy?"
halle, "eating outside. when you play with me. and when daddy lets us jump on him."
me, "what are three things that make you sad?"
halle, "when we eat inside. when you dont' play with me and when daddy doesn't let us jumpn on him"

halle's quote of the day,
"mama, kiki got hello kitty earrings today, i saw a hello kitty shirt, and now i see a hello kitty water bottle. I think hello kitty is taking over the world!"

kiki,
i asked if she would rather have her passy or her ear's peirced. she got so excited and said, "my ear's peirced!!!". so she happily gathered up all her passys and gave them to me. slept through the night and this morning we went and got her ears peirced. she was soooo happy. they look so cute. she picked out hello kitty earrings. i'll post pictures soon.

the snow!

DSC08072, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

its still snowing in UT. for the girls sake, i'm glad it snowed while we were there....but i'm happy to be back. the high has been about 75 every day this week, cloudy, light breeze....soooo nice!!
this week: we played outside everyday, we played in the slip and slide, we ate outside for almost every meal (including breakfast), we went up our playground almost everyday, and took a couple walks around the neighborhood!
when the pool opens in a few weeks, my summer "vacation" officially begins!

O Remember, Remember

i watched this and loved it....i have always wanted to start a gratitude journal....but i never have. so this week i started a journal, just like Eryings, where i take note of all the ways God has his hand in my life.....all my blessings come from God and I am so grateful to Him for all He has given me. just getting to wake up every morning to my beautiful healthy daughters is a miracle everyday!

aidan

DSC08092, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

aidan is super smart. super silly and tons of fun! he never runs out of energy and halle had a blast with him. halle and aidan both live up to their first child roles but somehow never clashed! halle talks about him all the time, mimicks some of his facial expressions and reminds me of funny things he said or did all the time! she is excited to see the boys again at the end of the summer!

pretty girl!

DSC08097, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

kiki says, "i wuv you, mommy" or "i wuv you, too, mommy" at least 5-10 times a day. its so sweet and i never get tired of hearing it! she loves to give hugs and kisses, real ones and dog kisses. she loves to snuggle. when she is watching tv she likes to say, "mommy, come snuggle me" or "mommy, come be my friend and snuggle me" .....usually tv time is my clean up time, but its really hard for me to say no to kiera!

DSC08107, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

on saturday before easter, we went to a huge easter egg hunt, there where hundreds of kids and thousands of eggs in this feild. halle got a ton of eggs, kiki passed up a ton of eggs and only picked up pink eggs. she was so happy about her pink eggs!

short hair

DSC09723, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

halle begged me to cut her hair. she was soooo happy with how it turned out. it needs to go up for her recital next month, but when that is done, she asked me if she could have it cut even shorter, i said sure. i am happy that she loves it so much! she could not stop looking at her self for days after it was cut and even told me, "mom, i just can't stop looking at myself" and "its just too cute for words".....i can't believe i didn't do it months ago, it is sooo much easier, it used to be soooo tangly and now it looks so much thicker and smoother!!! plus it is too cute for words!

halle and Kiera

this week was sooo nice, the weather was perfect, one of very few reasons why I like the south......between 65-75 everyday. we went to the park for a picnic every single day and stayed for at least 2 1/2 -3 hours. it was so relaxing. We have also been going up to the playground in our neighborhood. there are some older kids that play up there, and are sooo nice to the girls.... the girls love to play with them.

last weekend on our mini trip to Helen, GA we went to babyland, birthplace of the cabbage patch. we saw a "doctor" (scrubs and everything) , stand under a giant magical tree, aka "Mrs. Cabbage" and deliver a cabbage patch doll out of a head of cabbage.....this birth was complete with a ultrasound, IV, and tongs to measure dialation....the entire ground surronding the tree was full of cabbage heads with baby heads poking out.....i loved cabbage dolls as a child so i was loving it....the girls liked it, but were a little disturbed. ever since we got home, at least once a day, kiki has to bring up the whole weird/creepy experience. she says, "mommy, what did that doctor do to the tree?....what did he do???"....another funny thing is that when they "come out" the doctor shows off the butt, signed by xiever whatever, the founder of the dolls and then turns the doll around to show the outtie belly button....which i said, "kiki, that looks just like your button" (identicle)...so everyday kiki has to say, "mommy, my belly button looks just like a cabbage patch".

today at mcdonalds kiki said to some random older boy, "are you nice?"...he said, yeah. so she said, "ok, then come play with us"

at the skating rink some kid was blocking halle and kiera so they couldn't pass.....it takes a lot for halle to pick up on kids not being nice, she doesn't care , so she doesn't notice. but kiki is more sensitive and if someone even has an unfriendly tone in their voice towards kiki or halle, kiki will growl in their face, "you stop it". so, finally this boy, reached his skate out and ran over kiki's shoe.....kiki kicked him right in the shin. i acted like i didn't see, because i was glad she did it. then she glared at him and kicked her legs out in the air, like "i'm warning you" kicks. kiki has no fear of anyone...halle knows better and picked her up from behind and carried her off. they crack me up how they look out for each other.

teaching halle and kiera the gospel can be funny...sometimes they are right with me and other times their heads are in another place. the other day i was teaching them the easter story. kiki was right with me and when i showed her the picture of Jesus on the cross , with Mary kneeling at His feet. she said, "his mommy is crying, she so sad".....halle on the other hand was not with me....i said, "on the third day, Jesus rose from the dead. what do you think about that, Halle?" halle said, "Rose?.....i haven't gotten a rose since daddy took me to see the nutcracker"......she makes me laugh......

the girls have gotten very freindly lately to everyone they meet. i think they make each other more confident.....at every store, every person we pass on our walk, every child at the playground...they have to introduce themselves. "i'm halle, whats your name" i'm halle mae and i'm 4 years old, my birthday is oct. 19th" and kiki is a little echo, "what your name?" i'm kiki. i'm kiki lynn. i wuv ariel. i had an ariel birthday party." .....sometimes they will not stop and i have to tell them to say good bye to give the random stranger a break. they are totally in love with themselves and think the whole world is too and is hanging on their every word....of course, me and tom are in love with them and do hang on their every word so it just encourages them. the other day they said hi to a shy boy and he just looked at his mom and said, why are they talking to me. halle (and of course her echo, kiki) said, "because we're freindly!!!"

yestarday kiki came home from nursery at church. she loves nursery, but said, "there was a mean boy in nursery"...who, i asked. "i dont' know"...so i went through everyone's name, was it____. kiki would say, "no, he was nice"....was it _____. "no , he was nice"......i gave up...about an hour later i finally thought of the name of the new kid. was it _____. kiki's eye's lit up. "yeah, mommy, ____ is mean. he was doing this" and then she swung punches in the air.

Halle's "Style" and my birthday!

DSC09566, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

this is a typical outfit halle will pick out for herself. her and kiera insist on picking out their own clothes (and have since they were a year old)....i like it because i say go in your rooms and get dressed...it takes them a while to pull it together and then halle comes out soooo proud of what she calls her "style"...."do you like my style today, mom?" i say i love it and take a picture, there are almost always leggings involved and on this day there are two pairs of leggings!

yestarday was my birthday. i decided for my birthday this year i wanted to go to the mountains on a weekend getaway, so thats what we are doing this weekend, tom took a day off to have a longer weekend and we are very excited!!........yestarday was still a fun day too.....me and the girls packed a picnic. it was almost 70 and we went to the park and relaxed and played. picnics are me and the girls favorite thing to do. then we came home and had naps. then we went to ballet, we went early so kiera could dance in the studio a little bit with halle before it started.
when we got home tom had a birthday surprise for us. he made dinner and pie. and had hid easter eggs and candy all over the house for the girls to find and boiled eggs so we could dye the eggs. it was a fun way to spend them evening, esp. since i am going to my mom's for easter this year and tom will miss spending it with us. the girls were so happy, they ate candy for dinner. then halle made me stand in the front of the room so they could sing happy birthday to me. and through out the day she had whispered in a few random people's ears that it was my birthday and they should wish me a happy birthday...so at the park, i had a few random people to celebrate my birthday with, haha....
we put the girls to bed and watched a movie and ate the rest of the pie!!! it was a great birthday , with more celebrating to come!!!

Craft shelf

DSC09568, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

this is my new craft shelf. its one of my proudest motherhood acheviements.....i'm always so disorganized and having to find tape or a bandaid is a scavenger hunt....being at lynn's house inspired me to organize. i now have bins and containers all over the house and i am soooo happy!! halle is thrilled and shows off my new organization to people when they come over. This craft shelf was my best idea.....it is in the laundry room, upstairs , next to the playroom where the girls have a little table. at least twice a day they are pulling out paper, markers, scrissors, sequence, whatever to do a craft. i plan a craft to do with them every morning for "preschool"....which is just a craft, books, stories and songs. then next to the table, i hung a string and got clothes pins for the girls to hang up their art. its been soooo fun. i can even get out some of my own projects to do while the girls are working on their stuff. i've actually started a baby book for kiera!!! and in all my cleaning up of junk drawers, i actually found her ultrasound pictures!!!

spring is here!

spring is here! Sunday it was in the 60s, we spent 3 hours up at our playground. Halle was so excited when i found a razor scooter at the goodwill and fisherprice rollerblades. she is pretty good on her scooter and thinks its cool because the older kids in the neighborhood all have them!

yestarday was 74! it was so sunny and warm and since its supposed to rain the rest of the week, we skipped the gym and went straight to the park! We stayed for 3 1/2 hours , brought a picnic lunch, in halle's picnic basket (halle even packed up a blanket to sit on). we had sooo much fun and even got a little sunburned! kiera was begging for nap! "i wanna go home and go sleep, i so tired!!"

Sunday, March 7, 2010

quick post

yestarday 6 flags opened. we were counting down the days all week!!! we had sooo much fun!!!! halle was finally 42 inches and kiera was finally 36 inches, both critical height requirements. kiera got to go on her first rollercoaster. she was sooo scared, but loved it! halle got to go on her first adult rollercoasters. one of them was 8 stories tall, 50 mph and does three upside down loops....she laughed and smiled the whole way, i screamed my head off....we both LOVED it!! she had to do it again with tom. its going to be a FUN year!!!

right now the girls are reading a flap book together. halle is reading it just like me. "can you find the dog, kiki?" "can you say ___" "open this one"....i love when i hear her be sweet to kiki, especially when i'm not in the room.

yestarday they shared kiki's slinky the whole way to altanta...they each got to pick out something in the dollar section at target, halle picked slippers, kiki a slinky. i said kiki didnt' have to share because it was her toy that she picked. they passed it back and forth the whole way there and the whole way home without one word from me or a word of argument......i love when they love each other!

from the other room i saw halle wrap her arms around kiki from behind her and say in her ear, "you look so pretty today."

kiki was sick with a cold the past week. while we getting ready for bed halle said, "mommy, can we say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to make her feel better?"

I was reading the scriptures to the girls...they never listen and roll around the floor giggling...but halle heard the word repent and stoped and said, mommy, whats the word mean? i said, when we make a wrong choice, we say were sorry to the person we upset and in our prayers we say sorry to Heavenly Father and then He forgives us. Halle said, "mommy, i want to repent".....i know she doesn't need to repent yet, but i let her think of a wrong choice she made and repent that night. Halle is so happy when she is being good! she makes me so happy.

Kiki quotes,
"mommy, i like you, your nice!"
climbing up the playground...."i can do this and i'm just a little one!"
me, "kiki, are you a big girl?".....kiki, "no, i'm a big baby" (i think by 2 they should want to be a big girl, but kiki is REALLY lovin' being the baby around here)
kiki's favorite phrase lately, is to say, "guess what?" to get your attention and then says something rediculous....usually a bunch of potty words grouped together. but to strangers, she says, "guess what? ....."i'm kiera" or "i'm 2" or "that's halle and i'm kiera"
kiki was calling to halle who was running ahead of us at the playground. when we caught up kiki says, "halle, when i call your name, you answer me!"....i wonder where she learned that phrase!

Lily, 2 wks old!

DSC09549, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

this is my newest neice , Lily. me and lynn took some pictures and edited them in our own attempt at a photo shoot. this is one of my favorites. lily is so cute and so easy, i never heard her cry in the 2 weeks i was there with her. how do i order one of these babies??
more pictures from our trip will be coming soon. plus, i still haven't blogged about our xmas trip, i'll catch up one day. for now here are some funnies i don't want to forget.

halle said before we left on our trip: "mommy, what will daddy do without a mommy for three weeks?"

on the airplane, landing, looking at downtown atlanta/tall buildings. halle, "mommy, is that new york?"

halle during the trip. "this is a great trip, but its sad daddy can't be here."

halle yelled up to some boys on the playground equipment, "can you make sure my sister is safe up there'

while i threw up in the toliet. halle, "eww, thats nasty" and walked off.
kiera, "its okay, mommy, you're okay, i love you" while she patted my back. (i was expecting them to react the other way around)

lynn asked halle, what does your daddy look like. halle, "well, he's got dark hair and green eyes, and a really cute face."

halle to her cousin james, "i think you're handsome." james, 'thank you'....pause.......halle, "is there something you want to say to me?"......james, "your beautiful"

halle enjoyed dictating emails to me for me to send to tom and then hearing his reply. her emails were unprompted and i wrote word for word. (which meant starting sentences with the words, 'even...' 'that because....' and "and then") and every few sentences she would say, "i love you , daddy' and "i miss you'....lynn gave the girls super flat pillows....not suitable for a princess.....after one night with it, halle said, "mom, that pillow was so flat, i could feel the bed through it" and she had to include that in an email to tom.

sisters make the best friends

i know i ask my girls to share and take turns and talk nicely to each other, but halle has a level of sweetness in the way she treats kiki that i dont' know where she learned it. heres some cute examples:
i just joined a gym, i told halle and kiki they would stay in teh day care, while i went to class. later i heard halle telling kiki, "mommy is going to a class and you are staying with me. and i am going to protect you and take care of you, so don't worry." it was so sweet, i hadn't even told halle to do those things.

after dance class halle's friend broke a cookie in half and handed half to halle. without even a second of hesitation, or a word from me or kiki, she grabed her half , broke it in half and handed half to kiki.....i dont' know if kiki would have even asked for it or if i would have even told halle to do that, halle just thinks about kiki all on her own

in the car on the way to the gym, i gave them each a bag of cheese crackers and sprinkled like 10 m&ms in the bag. kiki ate out all the m&ms first and most of the crackers by the time we got there, halle hadn't. they put there bags in their seats and we went in. when we got back in the car and started driving, halle looked over at kiki with her empty bag. once again, kiki didnt' ask for any of halle's (she knows when things aren't her's) and i didnt' tell halle to share, i knew kiki would understand that she had eaten her's and i was ready to remind kiki....but with out any hesitation again, halle held up her bag to kiki and said, "what color m&ms do you want from my bag?" and she shared the rest of hers with her....i was so proud of her.

coming out of the gym, halle told me she took kiki to the potty (which is in the room, so i'm sure that just means she stood there with her) but halle loves to take care of kiki. kiki said, "halle took me to the potty and wiped me" (she also said, "i did poo poo and halle said, 'oooooo, yucky'")

yestarday me and halle went to pick kiki up from the nursery at church. as soon as kiki saw halle , she screamed, "HALLE, HALLE!!!" and she ran to her with open arms, she wrapped her arms around halle's neck and her legs around halles waiste, halle held her up like a little monkey and they spinned around the room, while kiki yelled, "i missed you, halle, i missed you!"....they had only been serperated for a couple hours, but even after one hour of dance, that is how they act when they reunite....it always makes me happy, but yestarday it made me extra happy because another mom in the room said she had never seen anything like that before and had never seen sisters so close at such a young age, she said her and her sisters never got along till they were adults. my sisters were my best friends from very little, through teenage years, till now....i am happy to see my girls so in love.

whenever kiki is upset, halle can't stand it (and vice versa) but halle tries so hard to make kiki happy, she will dance in front of her, make silly faces, tell jokes, remember things she said days before that made kiki laugh and say them again. its really nice...and sometimes it works

yestarday kiki hit her head, halle quickly grabbed a blanket and wrapped her up in it, while kiki laid there. then halle said, "mom, she looks like the baby Jesus, all wrapped up"...for the rest of the evenening halle called her baby Jesus and took care of her, fed her dinner, each bite, rocked her, got her dressed for bed. it was cute and kiki, who LOVES to be treated like a baby, loved it!

tom told halle he was just taking her to the see the nutcracker, halle was excited about their date, but i could tell she did wish kiki was going. she asked me if kiki could go and i said, it was too late at night, but i heard her telling kiki, "when your bigger you can go with us, would you like that?"
i think its really sweet how the girls are never competitive and halle never throws anything in kikis face, and could out smart her and be mean . she got a gift from grandma and told kiki she would ask grandma to mail one to her. she never tells kiki that so and so is her friend and not kiki's , even though they usually are older. even though she likes to take care of kiki, because she understands kiki has limitations, she treats her like an equal playmate and like a friend

pet worms

DSC08772, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

the girls caught some earthworms and for days treated them like pets. this is kiki pretending to eat one, just to gross me out....

some cute things halle has said lately:

on thanksgiving tom said to go around and say something your thankful for. halle said, "my family" kiki said, "turkey" tom said, "mom" and when it got to me i was thinking for a minute and halle whispered across the table, "say your thankful for daddy"

halle whispers in my ear pretty much once every day, "your the most beautiful mommy in all the land" or "your the best mommy in all the days"....she does it to tom to and to kiki (daddy or sister)....its really sweet

halle said, "mommy , quick come look out the window" she lead me to a beautiful pink sunset and said, "look what Heavenly Father made for me"

me, 'what happened when Jesus said, 'peace, be still' to the water?"
halle, "it was like he said, 'red light!' and it stoped"

halle asked me about the naughty boy at church...."is _____ on Santa's naughty list?" ( i said, probably. haha)

Halle, "mommy, last night i had a head ache when i was going to bed and i said a prayer to ask Heavenly Father to make me feel better"

halle, "i have daddy's belly button and kiki has mommy's belly button. and i have daddy's pirate teeth and kiki has mommy's teeth. and i have mommy's color skin and kiki has daddy's color skin."
me, "yes, halle, you are a little bit of me and a little bit of daddy"
halle, "I know, daddy already told me i have some of your genes and some of his genes"

the girls are totally in love with xmas music...i love it to, so we listen to it all day and in the car. halle said feliz navidad is her favorite song and both the girls love to sing it. i heard kiki saying the "bum, bums" in the little drummer boys song and i said , "is this your favorite song" she said, uh huh. and now everytime is comes on she yells out, "its my favorite song!"...i like to sing silent night to them before they go to bed, so when that comes on kiki yells out, "mommy, its your favorite song!"

Halloween

DSC08779, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

i never posted a picture of Halloween....i think i forget ....after a week of festivals and parties, kiki had finally had enough of being a witch (she had a matching costume to halle) and insisted on being minnie mouse.

Last week i had a Kids Christmas party for all of the girls friends...we invited all our friends, all of halle's friends from church and halle's ballet class....there were about 40 kids there! it was a ton of fun....i brought waffle cones and frosting and everyone brought candy to decorate waffle cones , turned upside down covered in green frosting, they look like xmas trees, i'll post pictures soon......
we played pin the beard on santa (big picture of santa , glue on beard, pin on cotton balls)
me and halle made a pinata, just filled a box with xmas candy and wrapped in xmas wrapping paper
and we played a xmas cake walk game for prizes, like ornaments and xmas straws and erasers
it was so much fun , i can hardly wait to do a valentine's day party.

playhouse

DSC08783, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

i have been wanting to get one of these houses for the girls for a while now, about 2 years...but even on craigslist they are expensive. i finally found one for 40 bucks, totally worth it....the girls love to play in it. the people even threw in a tiny kitchen and it fits the girls two tiny fold up chairs. (halle had fun cleaning it too)....

Bffs

DSC08836, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

the girls have really turned into the best buddies. they can play all day together. they don't care when they are the only two in the daycare at the gym. they can play for hours together , even if i have something i'm doing like cooking, they just play and play and i hear almost constant giggles. there favorite games. kitty and owner, where halle takes kiki for walks and kiki wrestles her and licks her all over, while they laugh there heads off. dancing together. mommy and babies, where they each put babies to sleep. hair salon, and make up salon. playing under forts. and hide and seek. and kiki hold one end of the jump rope, while halle holds the other and runs around the house. or we all play school or tea party.

this is halle holding her letter that she wrote to santa. you can read that all she wrote she wants for christmas is lotion. actaully, she wants, purple sparkle lotion, and kiki told santa she wants pink sparkle lotion. thanks to targets dollar section, it was an easy order to fill. i'm sure their xmas lists won't always be so simple, but for now, i'm happy i can get them exactly what they want!

one of many pictures of my girls harrassing my brother. they were so obssessed with him. luckily he is still a kid at heart and played with them non-stop!!!

halle and trevor are little twins. they are about 6 months apart in age, but match up in size and cuteness.

Cousin love

DSC06941, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

I finally uploaded some pictures from our trip to UT back in April. This is halle and Aidan....halle talks about him all the time. They were best little buddies, 2 of a kind (2 little melanies, aka oldest child/mother hens). Some how all the cousins just know that there is something special about being cousins and LOVE each other so much. Even though they don't see each other often, halle always mentions them as her best friends and asks when she will see them again. When i told her a few weeks ago that the next day was Thanksgiving, she got excited and asked , "are your sisters coming?" (since we spent last thanksgiving together). it isn't hard to get pictures like this!

bike babe

kiki can ride so fast on this little bike....i'll upload some video soon and she can steer really well too....if she takes a spill she just picks her bike back up and gets back on and keeps going....she even skinned her knees once and i shouted, are you ok, she shouted back, "i'm ok, just a little blood".....

yestarday we went to stone mountain park for their xmas celebration....its rated one of the top 10 places to see santa in the US....we were not disappointed...it was a TON of fun....live on stage music performance, dancing elves, storytime with mrs. clause, a xmas parade, xmas laser show on the side of the mountain, polar express in 4D, train rides, ect.....the girls had a great time, we were there for 5 hours and did not do everything there was to do....a couple funny things....
a few weeks ago tom pretended to throw kiki in a garbage can and she thought it was soo funny...yestarday i had her up on my shoulders and everytime we passed a garbage she yelled out , "mommy, throw me in the garbage can!" ....it sounded funny to people passing by
while we were waiting for a stage show to start kiki ran up on the stage in front of about 250 people....she had a BIG smile on her face and everyone started clapping ....well that just egged her on to give them a show, she lifted up her shirt all the way to her neck to show off her bellly and still had a big smile on her face, everyone laughed and clapped more...kiki was in heaven , until the worker grabbed her hand and led her off the stage....kiki is such a show off!
~mrs. clause story time was in front of a life size gingerbread house...halle said to me, "don't witches live in gingerbread houses?" (dont' read hansel and gretel during xmas time) i told her that maybe a witch lived inside and was going to come out and eat the small children....halle was pretty excited to see that and a little disappointed when it was just mrs. clause that came out.

updates for the past couple weeks...

-i caught a small tree frog on the side of the house....the girls and me are sooo excited....i let them reach there hand in and pet him....we went to the petstore and bought crickets a few times for him....a got cheap and started catching flies in a cup and puting them in the cage...we have yet to see him eat anything, despite spending long stretches of the day watching and waiting....annoying, but still fun to have a pet!

-one day we were sitting around brainstorming names for the frog, halle was coming up with the weirdest names that we would never remember and kept saying no to everything me and tom said, finally kiki spoke up and said, "i wanna name the frog, Bessy"....we all looked at each other surprised that kiki had actually come up with a decent name....halle actually liked it for a while , but its still trying to come up with a name of her own

-kiki is totally obbsessed with puzzles...halle never liked them, so this is fun to see kiera have a hobby all of her own (although her obsession with them has gotten halle interested and its become a very fun family activity)....i have about 10 boxes of 25 peices puzzles...kiki just dumps the box, does the puzzle, shouts out "i did it!!" and then "i do it again" , breaks it up and does it again....she can do this for a LONG time, like 30 minutes at a time gets up plays and does it some more....if you try to help she says, "don't do it, i do it myself" and if you put in a peice for her, you get a really dirty look.....her attention span is WAY longer then halle's was a 2, she can also color for a long time...its great that both the girls have about the same attention span...we can do some fun projects....cooking , crafts, puzzles, games, ect....

-halle loves to ask people, even random people at stores < "would like me to do a dance for you".....and she asked the mom at another child's birthday party if she could do a dance at the party and when we had a family over for dinner on sunday, she danced for the whole family....it makes me happy that she is so confident....she doesn't like to sing at church, i think its because she doesn't feel really confident about knowing all the words...but dancing, she is pretty good at it and she knows it and she will dance anywhere , anytime (and it helps that about half the time , she is wearing one of her leatards)

-halle is working really hard to cartwheel...she is doing pretty good at trying, her tumbling teacher said she will be able to do it pretty soon.

-kiki is a pro at riding her bike...i took some video of it, the bike is so tiny, it looks like a circus monkey's bike and she looks like a little monkey on it....the girls ride at least a couple hours a day on their bikes either in teh backyard or up in the parking lot at the playground...today we had about 10 friends join us up at the playground to ride, it was a lot of fun.

-today we got the flu vaccinations....the girls love to play doctor, so they were so excited about getting shots, they LOVED watching me get mine first and then they both watched themselves get shots...they didn't even flinch, these are some pretty tough girls

-i think halle has pretty good social skills for her age. she loves to introduce herself to people, ask people their names and give compliments.... kiera mimics everything halle does , so the other day at the playground a group of older girls were out there, kiki went up to one and said, "whats your name?" she answered....kiki said, "my name is kiki"...and then, "i wove (love) your tinkerbell shirt!"....it was so cute!

-for the past few weeks, halle introduces herself to everyone as isabella and kiki as abigail.....halle told me she loves those names and decided to change their names.... luckily , i love those names too (i actually wanted to name kiki , abigail, but tom said no)...so when she introduces herself to strangers, i don't even bother to correct her....strangers almost always say, those are very pretty names, which totaly makes halle's day!

the birthday

one of the games i had at the birthday party was a treasure hunt, i buried a bunch of little toys in the sand volleyball court. the kids had to dig up the treasures....it worked out pretty well....except that they were all on the surface, so i felt bad when i saw some of the kids had dug a really deep hole and got nothing ......it was really the only game i could come up with for about 35 kids to play at the same time....halle wanted to play tag, red light, green light and duck duck goose at the party, which we did, but just with about 10 or so that wanted to play. after the games i yelled that whoever wanted to could go back to the club house for halle to open presents.....i heard halle's friends saying, "can i help you?"....halle said sure to all of them....everyone just dived into the presents and started tearing them up...in about 3 minutes, everything was open...i have no idea who got her what, haha...halle thought it was great and since she didn't care, neither did I....it turned out to be a great party and she is already talking about how she wants to do a tinkerbell party again next year!

crzy!!

these girls crack me up and each other up all day....they're so goofy!

last week we went to stone mountain park, in stone mt, ga....we had a lot of fun....we took the sky lift up to the top of the mountain and hiked the mile hike back down...the girls did great and we did it very quickly, the train at the bottom is supposed to take you back to the park....when we got to the bottom, their was a sign that said, "train is not running today" ....we had to walk 1.5 miles back to the park....we tried to make it a game by getting the girls to chase us back to the park...we ran most of the way, the last 10 minutes or so we had to carry them, they were exhausted! we also watched a 4D movie, journey to the center of the earth, played minature golf, and had a really fun day!

crazy hair day!

a few times in the past week halle will whisper in tom's ear, "will you tell mommy she looks beautiful" and then he will and then she'll whisper in my ear, "will you tell daddy he looks handsome"
it's so cute and sweet..

in primary at church the teacher asked how do you serve your moms? halle raised her hand and said, "I clean the bathtub everyday"....that night when she was bathing she said "look, mom, this is how i clean the bath tub everyday" and she was putting soap on her wash cloth and standing up to clean the walls...

sunday, while i was putting kiera to sleep halle started cleaning like crazy, tom said she was moving a 100mph around the upstairs, which was a disaster...when i came out of the room she was standing by the door jumping up and down, squealing with excitment, she held my hand and had me close my eyes as she lead me to each room she had cleaned (picked up everything off the floor and put in all in one pile in the corner of each room, for me, that is cleaning up because for the most part, the upstairs did look clean) she had shoved stuff in drawers and in closets....even cleaned my bedroom...it was unexpected and totally made my day! i kept telling her how happy i was and grateful...she told me miss becky (her sunday school teacher) told her to do it...she was very proud of herself!

halle's party

DSC08609, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

more bday pictures to come....but here's one....all the girls dressed up as fairy's or princesses (that's kiki dressed up as tink in the background). halle wore this ballet outfit with wings and of course wanted red streamers to match her! i curled her hair in ringlets...it was straight before the party even started...but halle didn't realize that thought it was curly....she did look beautiful!

party stuff

me and halle made the flower wands...halle sat with me one night and tied the ribbon on 50 of those wands and i curled them...it us a couple hours, but she was happy to help. we put them in a few vases and put them on the tables at the party for centerpieces....at the end the kids could take one home....the little bottle next to the box is pixie dust, aka rose bath powder...the poem attached says,
Fairy love and fairy light,
pixie dust in your bath tonight,
so sweet and pretty you will smell,
just like the fairy, Tinkerbell!

each of the kids got one of those too....halle was screaming when i put it in her bath the next night...i hope the other kids liked them too...

the box is our pinata...halle was dying to have a pinata at the party....always on movies, rarely actually done....i had halle help me make it, we got a shoe box, printed tink pics from online, colored and glued on cut up peices of crape paper and sequence...halle was really excited about it...it was probably her favorite part of the party...i glued it shut so tight, knowing that no one would be able to break it open...which was my plan....what fun is a pinata unless everyone gets to swing at it...everyone got in line from youngest to oldest and got a few swings...of course no one broke it, at the end tom whacked it a few time and it finally broke and everyone scrambled for the candy...making a pinata will definetly become a birthday tradition!

tinkerbell cake

this is the cake i made for the party...i didn't know my friend was going to make one, so i already made one....we served both, halle thought that was pretty cool....this was halle's request....a chocolate cake (of course) with purple frosting (you can' t see it that well in the picture, but it was really purple) and i bought a bouquet of these flowers and halle put them on the cake, i was going to just do 3 rings of flowers(its a stacked cake, hard to tell), but halle put them pretty much everywhere and was excited to help...the topper is the top of our bubble bath bottle...don't worry , halle asked me a few times if i washed it before i put it on the cake.
