this was dark brown with a picture of a cow on it. when halle saw me put it in the cart at the good will, she nearly fainted. she asked why i was buying it and i said "for your room"....then she really started getting nervous. "no, mommy, please dont' put that in our room".....i painted it and modge podged scrapbook paper on it and hung their necklaces on it. they were soooo happy with how it turned out.

new decor for their room
i bought the girls each a shelf at the good will and the frames at the dollar store and i asked the girls what kind of pictures they wanted in their room, they said puppies and kitties so i bought a calendar at the dollar store too.....painted everything with left over pink paint from the walls and hung it all up. when i was done i told the girls to come in the room and see what i had done. they were screaming and jumping up and down, so happy about their new room. then i told them they could each get some of their special things and fill their shelfs. i should have waited a couple more days before i took the picture because their shelfs are twice as full and really cute! when people come over they love to tell them whos shelf is whos and point out different things that are theirs and why they are special.
dino pic
tom decided this would be a good spot for a picture.....halle was scared to death and would not even look up. there was a few things at universal studios that scared halle and so kiera enjoyed acting like she was so brave. kiera kept saying things like, "are you scared of 'twister', halle?" , "i liked it, i'm so brave, huh, mommy?"
so this picture makes me laugh cuz its just another time when keira, who probably was a little scared, was acting fearless just because halle was freaking out. kiki is even doing little t-rex arms just to try to prove how much she was liking this moment.
little ham
halle has become such a ham lately. this pic. is from this summer at busch gardens. she loves to pose and say, "don't you want a picture of me doing this?" and then i say, oh yeah! and it just encourages her more.

apples nursing
tom, "i just feel so bad for apples. she has to nurse them all the time."
me, "yeah, so did I and i dont' remember anyone feeling sorry for me"
knuckles
so we gave away knuckles and guinea nibbles. the girls wanted me to take pictures of them with all the guinea pigs and hang up the pictures around their beds. i bought little frames at the dollar store and took the pictures. such a cute little piggy and kiera looks like a little model!
the babies
having babies last year, was really fun. i'm tempted to make some more. they really were sooo cute, and you can hold them right away, so they were so fun for the girls. lynn was supposed to take 2 for her boys for xmas. that was why we did this in the first place. but then when their family stayed with us before xmas, she found out she and her son were allergic to them. well, their really wasn't a better xmas present i could have given the girls then to tell them lynn couldn't take the two babies. the girls were almost crying tears of joy. from day one the girls each picked their favorite. the ones pictured here. halle , the darker one, and she named her brownie, and kiera the lighter one, she named him lovey. well, then guinea nibbles had her babies. they came out a little weird looking and halle wanted to give those to lynn. but after the girls named them and they got bigger and cuter, they cried when ever i told them they were still going to lynn's family. so, at this point we still have all the babies. kinda rediculous , ok, very rediculous, but still very fun.
slime
this year for halle's birthday party favors, we sent each kid home with a bag of green slime....it was a halloween theme, and there were like 30 kids so i had to go cheap! you can make slime with borax and glue and food coloring. it is very easy and fun to make and very fun to play with. since halloween was on a sunday this year, i decided to make slime for all the primary kids. the girls made me do each batch a different color. the slime is like the slime from the bubble gum machines , not sticky, so we made a big mess, but not impossible to clean up. and we still have a big box of borax, so i'm sure the girls will talk me into doing it again
guinea pig tent
everytime i go the good will, i find the coolest things for the girls. well, i happened to find this little tent, which i thought would be great for barbies, but as soon as both the girls saw it they both were so excited to put their guinea pigs in it. knuckles loves this tent. this fall we went for a walk every evening....halle on her razor and kiera in the wagon with knuckles in his tent. the girls even convinced me that we had to take knuckles trick or treating. he was in his tent for awhile, but then i just had to hold him from house to house. the girls LOVED showing him off and getting all kinds of attention....aka weird looks from the neighbors. last week we gave knuckles away. we have a cage of the girls and a cage of the boys. knuckles had to have his own cage since boys cannot be housed together unless they are very young and used to each other. so knuckles we getting less and less attention and we really have just too many guinea pigs, so we parted with him. we were sad to see him go. ok, i was the only one who cared because he is just so dang cute. but the girls like playing with their babies the most and he went to one of their friends so they were excited for their friend to get him for his birthday.
and the award for best grandma goes to.....
mom found corn in her teeth and cracks for who knows how long. speaking of cracks, halle told me when we got home, grandma has two cracks, one in her tongue (weird deep line down the middle) and one in her butt.....haha
kiera has so much dirt on her face that it looks like a 5 o'clock shadow!
last month , grandma and granpa lopez came to visit us. will post pictures soon. halle and kiera loved every second of their visit and getting tons of attention....when we dropped them off halle was acting fine but as soon as they went out of view, halle and kiera both burst into tears, not a tantrum, just plain sad....halle said, "momma, i dont' want them to leave" ....it made me sad, we went straight to walmart to pick out something to cheer us up. right away we passed the card section and the girls spotted guinea pig , valentine stickers...they were freaking out. i told them that maybe Heavenly Father put those where they would find them so they wouldn't be so sad. halle said, "yeah, i think so because i'm feeling happier already!" it just so happened that the next week in tom's birthday card, my mom put some stickers in there for the girls, the same guinea pig ones....the girls were so happy to get more stickers!

style!
halle and kiera love to mix up their clothes and make different combinations. they call it their "style"....they go in their room and then come out and say, "mommy, you like my style today?" ...then they usually ask me to take a picture and they love to pose
more crafts!
the girls had sooo much with this craft. we filled different bowls with rice and then dyed them with food coloring . i drew whatever they requested and filled the whole area with glue. and the girls put the different color rice on the page.
halloween party
the girls dressed up as differnt things for every halloween party/fall festival we went too. this was my favorite. kiera was a bride and halle a pop star....totally fit their personalities!
more projects
this is another project we did. it is from teh web site
http://madebyjoel.blogspot.com/
so is the paper city.
this is a aquarium. the girls colored the fish and then we hung them from a button...then the girls lifted the buttons to make the fish move. then the girls put on a show for me. we've done quite a few crafts from this site. its very cute!
more home made projects
at the nice toy store in town they have a little mini sand table with mini tools. the girls always want to play with it. so we used food coloring to dye salt. then i collected little toys from around the house and the girls love playing wiht this. they pull it out all the time and play with it.
paper city
we got this idea from a blog, ca'nt think of the name of it.....will post link later...you can print up buildings, cars and people and then we made roads out of black poster board. the girls and me had a lot of fun making it, coloring it, setting it up and then playing with it.
preschool
the girls love crafts. i set up some bookshelves in the kitchen and filled with every craft supply you could ever want, stickers, glue, scissors, google eyes, brads, markers, paper, ect....the girls and me sit down and do crafts EVERY day....its been a lot of fun to have it all accessible to them, they will sit for a long time and work on projects. sometimes i call it preschool and actually make it educational. they like that too!
halloween fun
the day after i got home from AZ, my bff came to visit. we were roomies in college and just so happened to each have two girls the same age, destine to be bffs as well....the stayed for the week and we had soooo much fun!!! jen bought all the girls halloween pjs and it was like a slumber party every night! we made halloween cookies and took them to the neighbors, "you've been booed". the girls loved ringing door bells and running. luckily, one of our neighbors booed our house the next night!
hee haw farm
more from the farm on our ut trip....kiki could have held this dirty little chicken all day. she was nuzzlin' and snugglin' it for a long time!!!
hee haw farm!
we spent the day at the hee haw farm. petting zoo , slides , hay ride, corn maze, pony rides, and more. it was a fun, fun day!!!
trevy
kiki called trevor, trevy.....so cute. during the day aidan was in school, which meant the girls played with trevor. halle and trevor could sit in the tent in the playroom for hours playing "camping" .....
feel the love!
these kids could just play together forever. halle still tells me when she grows up , she wants to marry aidan and wants kiki to marry trevor.
temple square
our UT trip...we visited temple square. the girls were excited to see where me and tom where married. the first trip where everyone stayed healthy and we had sooo much fun. even tom surprised us and came for one weekend! typically i hate surprises, but this one was fun and a well kept secret....tom bought the tickets a year before!
bffs and big hams
this is halle and her bff shreya. they are big time hams for the camera and this picture just cracks me up. this was our church fall festival.

THE BABIES ARE HERE!
we are so excited that our baby guinea pigs are finally here! they were born yestarday and are soooo cute. guinea pigs are born with hair, eyes open and walking....so...you can hold them right away. we spent all day yestarday and the last 4 hours playing with them. i am trying not to let the girls get too attached becuase i told them they can each pick a baby to keep and we are getting rid of all the other pigs....but i need them to each pick a girl or each pick a boy.....and i can't tell who is who yet. guinea nibbles still needs to have her babies too!!! this is soooo fun!!! its like christmas for the girls, they are totally obssessed!!!! dont' know what names will stick, but i've heard popcorn, butter and carmel the most.....coincidently, my favorite foods......

5 years old!
this is halle the morning of her birthday! she is the cutest thing in the world! i can't believe she is 5, at times, and at other times, it feels like me and her have been best friends forever. we spend every day trying to make the other one happy and succeding! halle is the most pleasant child, she has nevered whinned, never thrown a tantrum, rarely gets upset, rarely ever cries about anything and has been in time out probably 10 times in her whole life. she is so laid back, goes with the flow. she is truely a dream child and i love spending every day with her!
she is tons of fun. she loves to laugh, and loves to dance. she loves her guinea pigs more then anything in the world. she loves to make our family happy and asked me if she could take the family out to ice cream with her birthday money. the other day i let her to pick out a purse for me, knowing that i would get something practical, and she would pick out something trendy and cute (which she did, i've gotten tons of compliments on my cute pink purse)....she begged me to get a matching wallet. "if you have a pink purse, you should have a pink wallet"....no, i said, there are no pink ones in the clearance section...."please, mom, let me buy it for you with my birthday money"....i told her we would keep our eye out for one at the thrift store, but i am always so happy when she is generous and sweet!
halle loves preschool at home with me. she loves telling everyone that she is homeschooled for preschool/ she loves playing pretend, mostly house, mom, dad, ect and animal and trainer. she loves when i play polly pockets with her. she loves to play outside. she loves to play in the dirt , sand and mud. LOVES her razor scooter, asked me for a skate board for xmas and a remote control car.....which surprised me because she is soooooo girly , but she has other fun sides to her. she still loves fashion, heals, make up, cooking, dancing and gymnastics.
i am so lucky to be this kids mom. i love spending my days with her. it really is like having a friend around. we talk non stop all day to each other, i would be bored with out her as my side kick.
happy birthday, halle!
spook alley
me and tom set up a spook alley at the clubhouse for the party. we hung black vinyl across half the room and had the kids walk through it. with a fog machine and strobe light, orange lights and spider webs and some skeletons, it was just the right amount of scary for the kids!
our first family portrait
this is our first family portrait. haha....
halle insisted that me and tom dress up.
pin the eyes on the pumpkin
halle thinks that a party is not complete without pin the tail on something. this was her idea , her and kiki colored it and she thinks its the funnest party game ever!
dance off!
there were a couple things halle really wanted at her party and one was dancing. i got a really fun, halloween dance songs, like the monster mash, ect. halle loved dancing. i laid out numbers and did a freeze dance and if i called your number you got a cupcake. halle thought it was pretty cool!
happiest kid in the world!
halle is the happiest kid i know! look how cute she is watching the sparklers on her cake!
