this is meow-zers.....the stray kitty tom brought home. the sweetest, coolest cat ever! everyone fell in love, especially tom and kiera. at first my cat allergy didn't kick in, then meowzers started to grow up, a few weeks later, and i started to get sick. i told the girls that when that happened we had to find the kitty a new home. so they were ok with that. but having kitty around was so much fun, that that is why we decided to get the puppies. when we got married, me and tom made a pack that we would never have a dog.....so much for that!

lucy and dezzy
to come up with the names , the whole family had to go to a dog names website and everyone had to like the name or we moved on. it took awhile. pepper was a hit because the dog is black like pepper. the girls love to think they're clever. (just like naming the loudest guinea pig, squeakers, they thought that was the most amazing name ever)

pepper!
we got two new puppies. this is one of them. she is so sweet and always up for a belly rub. she loves to sleep like this on her back. we got her from a neighbor, who runs a rescue, someone could not take care of her, she is only 6 months old, (and not house trained, so both puppies are getting trained). she is a yorkie/ poodle mix. we are all obssessed with her!
new puppy!
we got a new puppy. only 10 weeks old. we named him Dezzy, the girls wanted to name him salt. to go with pepper, the other dog. he is a lhasa apso/poodle mix. so cute and fluffy. we are having fun with out puppies!

playing outside
halle and kiera are natural model's . love the poses! adam is always cold when he's wet, even in the heat of the summer! and rose is our neighborhood friend that comes over to play all the time, she is so sweet.
we have been having the funnest days lately! i love the spring and summer time!
~last week we went to our homeschool group, end of the year summer party. kiera found a 10 year old girl to latch on to. she played with kiera the whole time, it was like i had a nanny! and kiera LOVEs the attention!
~we also went to the fair with our neighbors, who got free tickets and shared them with us. we had to put kiera in wheely shoes so she could get on the scary rides!
yestarday me and lynn hung out all day and then that night i had a wii party at the house, we invited our neighbors with the 5 kids. its always a party with 5 extra kids in the house. we played the wii and all over the house from 6-10pm!!!
today lucy had her birthday party at 10am. the neighbors came again. we had cake and ice cream, opened presents and then played with the presents. at noon, we were h aving fun talking and the kids were having a great time, so we decided to pull lunch togther instead of ending the party. we had taco salads outside and then a rain storm came through. the kids played in the rain for a long time and got soaked! everyone went home to change and then met back at my house for more playing, and wii! lynn , me and ally all cleaned my kitchen! the party finally ended at 5pm! wow , a 7 hour party for a 3 year old!!!

finally some updates
i just did quite a few new posts....i need to get back into keeping this blog updated, as its my only record/journal that i do.....and the girls love to look at past posts and have me read it to them, so i gotta get updated....
i love this picture of halle. everyday i tell her to go get dressed and sometimes she just loves to spend some time putting together her masterpiece for the day. this was after a trip to the thrift store and i let her pick out the shirt and scarf... she feels like a super model every time she looks in the mirror. her and kiera are absolutely in LOVE with themselves and it makes me happy to know they have some serious self esteem!
soccer camp
this year during spring break the rec center had a free soccer clinic. it was fun for the kids and just so cute to see kiki in her little pink shin guards. they gave us lunch. we played on the playground and even went for hike around in the woods outside the rec center, which turned out to be the kids favorite part.
our good friends and neighbors have 5 kids from age 5-11. they went too. we play with them pretty much every day since their house backs up to lynn's house and they have a big lot of grass that we can play on. they are the funnest , nicest kids. they come over sometimes to play at our house, or for dinner, or we meet at the playground or any thing else fun we do around town.
they are homeschooled, so they are in a fun home school group that the girls are also in. the kids just can't get enough of each other!!!
at the strawberry patch
there is strawberry patch about 15 min. from here. we go a lot in the spring time. this year we also went to the lane strawberry patch a bit further from here. they had a festival day with food, bounce houses and a find the biggest strawberry contest. me and tom and the girls looked and looked for the biggest strawberry. it was a fun day....didn't win the contest still had a great time!
strike a pose!
who could do a better job then kiera of posing with a strawberry?
while melanie was here, we went to the strawberry patch. yummm...the kids ate tons of strawberry's , picked a bucket and then i made strawberry shortcake and bought ice cream and whipped cream......really the store strawberries just dont' compare!
easter sunday
trying to get all the kids to smile before church on easter sunday. did not happen.... halle is squinting from the sun in every pic i took....oh well, at least we got them all in a picture. who would of though, lucy was in the mood to smile the most.....
well, these are some cute kids, but to get some frame worthy pictures, we need a do over!
riding her bike
halle LOVES to ride her bike. she rides EVERY DAY!!! she is really good at it and can ride way faster then me, i'm a coward, she's fearless. we play outside everyday when the boys get home from school till dinner time and sometimes after that. these girls play HARD, from riding bikes to playing tag with the neighborhood kids, to practising cartwheels, running through the sprinklers. we live in a great neighborhood with some really fun neighborhood kids!
oh, lily!
lily is the cutest baby ever! i just love her big ol' belly and lily adores me. she wants me to hold her all the time!!!!
the perfect baby
i thought my girls would have been more interested in holding gavin when he came because they are always bugging me about having another baby....but they really didnt' hold gavin that much.....then i realized that lily is what they have in their head that they want. the perfect baby. she looks like a baby and doesn't talk, unless they tell her to say something and she tries to copy them, getting her to say ca-ca always cracks everyone up, she likes to be fed, but can follow direction. they can dress her and ask her yes and no questions and she nods or shakes her head no. she smiles and usually listens to them, and for some reason her stubborn streak doesn't bother halle. halle can put a diaper on her, give her a passy or her blanket and carry her around the house, and halle is totally oblivious to whether lily want to be carried or not, haha.....if halle wants to carry her, lily gets carried. but lily loves halle and loves to give all the kids hugs and play with them. she really is the perfect baby. any younger and she would still be fragile and any older and the girls wouldn't see her as a baby anymore.....if she could stay this age forever, it'd be halle's dream come true!
johnny g's
kiera and lucy are the cutest little friends. when we went out of town lucy asked lynn, are my sisters home yet? the girls just have so much fun together. the first question i get in the morning has changed from< i want breakfast. to : can we go to lynn's house?
johnny g's
a new ride at johnny g's! what could be better! this is already our favorite place to play! for 15 bucks you get a bag of tokens, 2 wristbands for unlimited rides, mini golf, bounce houses, train ride, ball pit, tubes and slides, plus a one topping large pizza and a pitcher of soda. seriously???!!! its a mini disneyland right next to home. we took melanie here when she visited and spent 4 hours there!!!!
gavin
melanie came for a visit last month. she just brought her youngest, gavin, who i hadnt' met yet. even though i was sad that her other 3 older boys weren' t coming with her, i was happy that melanie got to take a relaxing , well deserved vacation. plus me and lynn got to take turns loving on gavin. he is the cutest sweetest baby and i could not get enough of him.
we had sooo much fun while melanie was here. we went to playgrounds, out to eat, and cooked some of our favorites, like egg rolls and won tongs, a lopez tradition...yummmmm.....
we also planned an easter party for all of the kids and their friends. everyone brought a snack to share and eggs to hide. then all the kids played on the playground and went on an egg hunt. the kids all had a great time!
melanie got to spend easter with us. we painted eggs and got a visit from the easter bunny!
more pictures on flickr of her trip and more posts to come!

late night pj party!
halle has been begging me to have a party for her, a late-night, pj party. i hear reminders everyday....after i crimped her hair, "oh, i wanna crimp the girls hair at my party" or if we drink koolaid, "i want to have koolaid at my party" or hear a certain song, "we should dance to this at my party".....i had a free friday, so we went around to the neighborhood girls with invitations , and we had the funnest pj party. we had 10 girls total, but since they were neighborhood friends , their ages varied from our cousin lucy, a couple 5 year olds, 6, three 9 year olds, up to 11 years old. i didn't realize how much fun this would make the party because it wasn't just chaos....all the girls came in their pjs. first we had dinner. halle wanted mummy dogs (hot dogs wrapped in cresent rolls) and kiki wanted mac and cheese. halle wanted koolaid, which was a huge treat and kiki wanted me to make jello, two things i never make....kiki wanted me to buy potato chips and halle asked for a chocolate cake, which the girls decorated with candies. after dinner i got out all our nail polish and tooth picks. one of the girls brought a nail decorating idea book and the girls did pocka dots , sparkles, ect. for an hour!! then we went up stairs and they put on make up. i put on eye liner and mascara on all the girls and they thought that was pretty cool. then they played for a while and then laid out their sleeping bags and watched a little bit of a movie while i crimped hair. then we had cake and played the wii. it was such a fun night! i can't wait to do it again! halle and kiera were so giddy and giggly the whole night. it is fun to do something so easy that i know will make them sooo happy!
we didn't want to leave our cousins out of the party , but knew it was just too girly. so lynn had a boys party at the same time for her boys and the neighborhood boys. they had a fun night too!
we are really lucky to live in such a nice neighborhood with some really fun neighborhood kids. we have been going out everyday from after school time, when all the kids get home till night. the weather is awesome and the kids are having a great time!

universal studios
for my birthday this year we decided to take a long weekend and go to universal studios. we really wanted to take james and adam with us but lynn was nervous about a trip like that without her. i finally talked her into it, caling her at 4am the morning we were leaving and convincing her that we just couldn't leave without them. when the girls got in the car that morning and saw the boys sitting in the back seat, they started screaming they were sooo excited they were coming with us. it turned out to be the funnest trip and something we will all never forget. what could be funner for the kids then taking a trip with there best friends! the kids were great at keeping each other company in the car and in the long lines. they never cared about waits or long walks because they were always having fun doing whatever. the line for harry potter was an hour and when we finally got to the front of the line, the kids either couldn't do it or didn't want to, but the boys thought that walking through the line , which was through the castle, was the highlight of the trip! there are sooo many fun kid rides and splash pad , water areas, too that we spent tons of time at. we spent all day thursday, friday and half day saturday, leaving about 5pm to head back to ga. on friday we spent 9 hours at the park! we all crammed into a hotel and the kids passed out at night! the girls loved showing off what they knew about the park since they had been there before and the boys loved talking about what rides they wanted to do with their dad when he comes home for a visit this summer!

lucy
lucy is our newest bff. we are having so much fun with our cousins living across the street.
we get to play with lucy everyday. she is just one of the girls now. kiki loves having her own little sister to "boss" around. and they all get along great!
yestarday we got home from church just after noon and it was in the 70s, so nice!! we played outside with cousins and neighborhood kids till 8:30 that night! it was such a fun and relaxing day!
today we were out there again from the time the boys got home from school till dinner time! halle got a bike with out the training wheels for xmas, she learned right away and today, me and the girls went riding around the neighborhood....she was beating me up all the hills and down the hills she is much more fearless then i am!

we miss grandma and grandpa
halle waited for grandma's visit to use this tea set. this was the highly anticipated moment! it was so fun and something i'm sure the girls won't ever forget!
yestarday we finally skyped with grandma....the girls know how to speed dial her and call her all the time, but this was our first skype since the visit. the girls were sooooo thrilled to see grandma, they were both kissing the computer screen and hugging the computer. kiki could not stop with sweet nothings..."grandma, you are so, so pretty!" and "grandma, you are the greatest grandma in the whole world"...they showed her stuffed animals, they showed her the sticker books we made, they did cart wheels, and handstands and couldn't stop talking!!! they wanted to skype again today. i'm sure it will be an almost daily activity!

shoes!
tom picked these shoes out for halle for xmas. she is in love with these!!! she gets compliments where ever she goes in them and loves that!!!
quotes of the week:
halle, "mommmy, why would you even buy a car that drives this slow?!?!" (halle has to remind me everyday that she hates the truck because it drives soooo slow)
both the girls call hard boiled eggs, rotten eggs because of the smell...but they love to eat them!
kiki, "mommy, i love the cheese inside of the rotten eggs" .....(she means the yolk....thats what her and halle decided was inside of them.

trash to treasure... a good will fix up
this was dark brown with a picture of a cow on it. when halle saw me put it in the cart at the good will, she nearly fainted. she asked why i was buying it and i said "for your room"....then she really started getting nervous. "no, mommy, please dont' put that in our room".....i painted it and modge podged scrapbook paper on it and hung their necklaces on it. they were soooo happy with how it turned out.
new decor for their room
i bought the girls each a shelf at the good will and the frames at the dollar store and i asked the girls what kind of pictures they wanted in their room, they said puppies and kitties so i bought a calendar at the dollar store too.....painted everything with left over pink paint from the walls and hung it all up. when i was done i told the girls to come in the room and see what i had done. they were screaming and jumping up and down, so happy about their new room. then i told them they could each get some of their special things and fill their shelfs. i should have waited a couple more days before i took the picture because their shelfs are twice as full and really cute! when people come over they love to tell them whos shelf is whos and point out different things that are theirs and why they are special.
dino pic
tom decided this would be a good spot for a picture.....halle was scared to death and would not even look up. there was a few things at universal studios that scared halle and so kiera enjoyed acting like she was so brave. kiera kept saying things like, "are you scared of 'twister', halle?" , "i liked it, i'm so brave, huh, mommy?"
so this picture makes me laugh cuz its just another time when keira, who probably was a little scared, was acting fearless just because halle was freaking out. kiki is even doing little t-rex arms just to try to prove how much she was liking this moment.
little ham
halle has become such a ham lately. this pic. is from this summer at busch gardens. she loves to pose and say, "don't you want a picture of me doing this?" and then i say, oh yeah! and it just encourages her more.

apples nursing
tom, "i just feel so bad for apples. she has to nurse them all the time."
me, "yeah, so did I and i dont' remember anyone feeling sorry for me"
knuckles
so we gave away knuckles and guinea nibbles. the girls wanted me to take pictures of them with all the guinea pigs and hang up the pictures around their beds. i bought little frames at the dollar store and took the pictures. such a cute little piggy and kiera looks like a little model!
the babies
having babies last year, was really fun. i'm tempted to make some more. they really were sooo cute, and you can hold them right away, so they were so fun for the girls. lynn was supposed to take 2 for her boys for xmas. that was why we did this in the first place. but then when their family stayed with us before xmas, she found out she and her son were allergic to them. well, their really wasn't a better xmas present i could have given the girls then to tell them lynn couldn't take the two babies. the girls were almost crying tears of joy. from day one the girls each picked their favorite. the ones pictured here. halle , the darker one, and she named her brownie, and kiera the lighter one, she named him lovey. well, then guinea nibbles had her babies. they came out a little weird looking and halle wanted to give those to lynn. but after the girls named them and they got bigger and cuter, they cried when ever i told them they were still going to lynn's family. so, at this point we still have all the babies. kinda rediculous , ok, very rediculous, but still very fun.
slime
this year for halle's birthday party favors, we sent each kid home with a bag of green slime....it was a halloween theme, and there were like 30 kids so i had to go cheap! you can make slime with borax and glue and food coloring. it is very easy and fun to make and very fun to play with. since halloween was on a sunday this year, i decided to make slime for all the primary kids. the girls made me do each batch a different color. the slime is like the slime from the bubble gum machines , not sticky, so we made a big mess, but not impossible to clean up. and we still have a big box of borax, so i'm sure the girls will talk me into doing it again
guinea pig tent
everytime i go the good will, i find the coolest things for the girls. well, i happened to find this little tent, which i thought would be great for barbies, but as soon as both the girls saw it they both were so excited to put their guinea pigs in it. knuckles loves this tent. this fall we went for a walk every evening....halle on her razor and kiera in the wagon with knuckles in his tent. the girls even convinced me that we had to take knuckles trick or treating. he was in his tent for awhile, but then i just had to hold him from house to house. the girls LOVED showing him off and getting all kinds of attention....aka weird looks from the neighbors. last week we gave knuckles away. we have a cage of the girls and a cage of the boys. knuckles had to have his own cage since boys cannot be housed together unless they are very young and used to each other. so knuckles we getting less and less attention and we really have just too many guinea pigs, so we parted with him. we were sad to see him go. ok, i was the only one who cared because he is just so dang cute. but the girls like playing with their babies the most and he went to one of their friends so they were excited for their friend to get him for his birthday.
and the award for best grandma goes to.....
mom found corn in her teeth and cracks for who knows how long. speaking of cracks, halle told me when we got home, grandma has two cracks, one in her tongue (weird deep line down the middle) and one in her butt.....haha
kiera has so much dirt on her face that it looks like a 5 o'clock shadow!
last month , grandma and granpa lopez came to visit us. will post pictures soon. halle and kiera loved every second of their visit and getting tons of attention....when we dropped them off halle was acting fine but as soon as they went out of view, halle and kiera both burst into tears, not a tantrum, just plain sad....halle said, "momma, i dont' want them to leave" ....it made me sad, we went straight to walmart to pick out something to cheer us up. right away we passed the card section and the girls spotted guinea pig , valentine stickers...they were freaking out. i told them that maybe Heavenly Father put those where they would find them so they wouldn't be so sad. halle said, "yeah, i think so because i'm feeling happier already!" it just so happened that the next week in tom's birthday card, my mom put some stickers in there for the girls, the same guinea pig ones....the girls were so happy to get more stickers!

style!
halle and kiera love to mix up their clothes and make different combinations. they call it their "style"....they go in their room and then come out and say, "mommy, you like my style today?" ...then they usually ask me to take a picture and they love to pose
more crafts!
the girls had sooo much with this craft. we filled different bowls with rice and then dyed them with food coloring . i drew whatever they requested and filled the whole area with glue. and the girls put the different color rice on the page.
halloween party
the girls dressed up as differnt things for every halloween party/fall festival we went too. this was my favorite. kiera was a bride and halle a pop star....totally fit their personalities!
more projects
this is another project we did. it is from teh web site
http://madebyjoel.blogspot.com/
so is the paper city.
this is a aquarium. the girls colored the fish and then we hung them from a button...then the girls lifted the buttons to make the fish move. then the girls put on a show for me. we've done quite a few crafts from this site. its very cute!
more home made projects
at the nice toy store in town they have a little mini sand table with mini tools. the girls always want to play with it. so we used food coloring to dye salt. then i collected little toys from around the house and the girls love playing wiht this. they pull it out all the time and play with it.
