grandma!

DSC06414, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

this is the only picture i got of grandma when she came to visit, she made cookies with halle! grandma bought halle a camera, i'm hoping that halle got some pictures of grandma on it...the day after this picture, i got my tonils out so i never got more pictures of grandma with the girls :(

dress up clothes

DSC06474, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

i bought this armoire off craigslist, i painted the outside and halle painted the inside. it holds our dress up clothes collection. its gotten to the point, with over 50 dresses, that i wonder who is more into this, me or halle....
all, except a couple, of the dresses came from yard sales or the goodwill, so i cannot resist buying them, as well as ballet outfits and tutus. the girls love it and its great when freinds come over, there is plenty for everyone!
this picture doesn't even show what was in the drawers, tons of shoes and more dresses!

so happy

DSC06477, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

kiera's favorite dress. she is so happy when i put this on her, its so akward , but she loves it, which is weird because she usually loves to just be in her diaper!

talking on the phone

DSC06471, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

kiki loves to hold the phone with her shoulder, like me, and walk around the house talking, of course, grandma is the only one willing to talk to her! she's such a little me, i love it!

Princess bathroom!

DSC06467, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

this is the girls cute princess bathroom, they love it and all halle's friends are jealous, which makes me feel like mom of the year (which i can use right now, considering halle broke her toes on my watch)

showing off the boot

DSC06449, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

this is the boot we decorated. halle started crawling on saturday. she told me her knees were "bleeding" because they were so sore. i cut up some socks for her to put over her knees. yestarday, after a week and half , she finally started limping, but it made her muscles sore, i think, because today she was back to crawling.

happy valentine's day

DSC06446, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

tom bought this cake and jewlry for halle for valentine' s day. we put candles and ballerina' s on it to make up for the fact that she broke her toes. it really cheered her up!

lipstick!

hows it look , mom?

makeup

DSC06444, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

the girls LOVE to put on make up. they are pretty good about staying in the bathroom with it, so i let them do it, if i need a minute to do something....this is what happens if i leave them unsupervised for longer then a minute.

kisses

DSC06439, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

this is my attempt at getting the a cute pic of the girls kissing tom...kiera is totally a daddy's girl, but burst into tears when she can't have the camera.

silly faces

DSC06437, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

kiera tried to imitate everything halle does, she even crawled quite a bit since halle was crawling with her broken toes. this is kiera trying to copy halle's face, but was laughing to much to get it right. kiera also echos whatever halle says. its fun to ask halle a series of questions and hear her answer and kiera echo.

matching!

DSC06434, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

Halle LOVES when her and kiera are matching. they have a few matching dresses that they wear often and its pretty cute! halle also decided that she should do her hair and kiera's hair everyday, which means put tons of clips in it, today i went and restocked their hair bag with tons of clips that she can do herself, she was sooo happy!

halle!

this is another fav. family outtig to ride the merry go round at the mall....oh, to live in a city where there was more to do...oh, well, the girls liked it!

body glitter

DSC06396, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

with tickets you can actually buy body glitter at chucky cheese, halle rubbed this over her entire face and body and thought she looked beautiful covered in "sparkly diamonds"

all dressed up!

halle even made sure to match the purse to the dress for a classy trip to chucky cheese!

loving the soda!

the wink

DSC06389, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

halle thinks its pretty cool to wink. she loves to tell when to take pictures of her, and this was one of those moments.
this is one of our many family outtings to chucky cheese, the girls love it and really love their refillable soda cups!

Bottoms up!

one of kiera' s fits

DSC06371, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

kiera threw a fit to sit on this bike, i thought it would be fun for her, but she was just too jealous of halle riding a bike and cried and cried till we took her out, yestarday, peggy gave us a 10 inch bike that i think she'll be able to ride if i lower the seat. we are waiting on halle' s toes to heal before we bike ride again, i know halle really misses it!

Halle' s new bike

DSC06370, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

halle got this bike back in dec. this is her first time in jeans, a tshirt, and sneakers, in almost a year....she made sure to tell me, jeans are for bike rides, dresses are for stores and playing, and then she changed as soon as we got home!

Go kiera!

kiera was so cute riding her 4 wheeler!

Halle's poor toes!

Haven't blogged in a while...can't find the camera battery to upload new pictures...hmmmm...where else can i look?

I was finally starting to get better from my tonsil stuff, the weather in GA is amazing 70ish degrees everyday, and we were loving it, but....saturday morning, v-day, halle was standing on the kitchen bench, it started to tip, knocked halle to the ground and then came crashing down on her toes, when i picked it up off her, it was so heavy, i knew whatever it hit was broke, i scooped her up, set her on the couch, put on my shoes and a sweatshirt and headed straight to the ER, halle screamed bloody murder the whole way, and halle is not what i would call a drama queen, so i had never heard her scream like that. luckily, the hospital is 10/15 minutes away...(our second trip to the ER in one week, ahhhh!!)
the ER took us straight to the kids unit, we had given halle tylenol before we left, it kicked in, halle stoped crying, she was a perfect angel for xrays and tons of different nurses coming in the room to see her, they even gave her a pig stuffed animal, halle doesn't get attached to things easily, but still sleeps with "knuckles" every night. She was talking and laughing with me, even told me that it stoped hurting alittle, but i knew it was broke, and i was right, she broke the first and second toe. a nurse came in and cleaned it, she asked halle if she was hurting her, halle said yes, but would have never complained on her own, halle still hasn't complained one bit, shes such a sweetheart. halle said, "yes, it hurts and your hands are berry, berry cold!" then halle turned to me, "mom, you know what we forgot to do before we left the house? Put on our makeup"
they wrapped it up, then brought in a blue boot. the man asked halle if she liked the boot. halle said, "no, its a boy boot". of course, as soon as we got home, we decorated it in glitter glue, and diamonds, can' t wait to post pictures, its pretty amazing, halle loves it! the hospital staff asked halle quite a few times how this happened (i'm sure this is standard to weed out child abuse) halle got sick of telling the same story, so finally said, " a magic bench flew in my kitchen and landed on my toes"....haha...my story definetly started to sound suspicious!
we got home, halle never complained, but every 4 hours , like a clock, even through the night, asked for more medicine. the first time, she was eating mac and cheese, i think the onset of pain caught her by surprise, she said, "mom, these noodles are going straight through my body, down to my toe and making it hurt"
the dr. said it would throb at night, halle slept in bed with me, she moaned and woke up, but still has not cried about it, shes such a trooper, i would totally be crying about it!
she almost cried about missing church, it had to stay elevated for 48 hours, i promised she would go next week. i have taken her out everyday this week in hopes of her not getting too bored sitting around the house. i put her in the wagon, with her foot on a pillow. she wanted her foot on a pillow all week. today i finally convinced her to just sit in the stroller when we went out. we went to storytimes, museum, mcdonalds, ect. she likes the attention she is getting, i'm glad she is getting it! halle and kiki have stayed happy, i wish this had not had happened so close to my tonsillectomy because we have already spent so much time sitting around and watching cartoons and playing with toys in my bed, but the girls don't mind, they are happy. I feel soooo grateful that she only broke her toes and had a clean break, this could have been worse if it fell on her foot. it has still been a long week of carrying her around and being on call day and night for her every need. i had taken for granted how independent she had become. she used to get up in the morning, throw out her pull up and get dressed from head to toe, hair done, clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories. and of course, a princess cannot lay around in pjs, she still wants me to dress her in a dress everyday! today she started crawling around the house a little bit and taking back some of her jobs, like getting dressed and undressed. the dr. said after about 10 days she could limp on it, halle is scared to death to have anything touch her foot, esp the ground, so i don't know when she will realize that she can limp on it. kiera has been surprisingly uninterested in her foot, well, everytime she even looks at it, i say, no-no, don't touch. today halle said, "mama, i will show her how to touch my toes, i will teach her", then halle took kiera's hand and let her softly touch her foot, it was really sweet.
the girls are dealing with the insanity of boredom better then me...i'm just sorta exhausted, as i feel like i could have used one more week of good sleep to recover from my surgery, oh well, at least we'll be back to normal soon enough! at least i have tons of toys, so i can keep a steady stream of different toys coming to halle and kiki, and they are things they can do on their laps. we play dr a lot now with our ace bandages, and today me and halle held a jump rope, aka, long peice of tape, for kiera to jump and then go under. kiera is like are very own puppy dog that will follow all sorts of crazy commands! i am happy that i have such happy, silly girls to stay up beat and keep me going!

"ohhhhhhh, kiki" (me and halle say this a lot during the day, at all the crazy stuff kiki does!)
kiki has decided that she gets an adrenaline rush jumping from the ottoman to the couch, which is really a dive and ends in a belly flop on the couch. and she does it over and over again.
kiki took her diaper off and got in the empty bath tub and pooped, then when i was giving halle her bath, she jumped in with her diaper on!
kiki has become a little parrot and repeats everything you say, and ask her to say, halle enjoys teaching her new words, which kiki repeats back, then halle gets excited. some of kiki's words are clear but others are garbled, which is funny to us , because we are starting to memorize them and use them, for example, "bet-chup": ketchup, which if she sees , she must have!
kiki says "hi" and waves to everyone she sees when we go out!
some of kiki's new words this week are:
Poggy (peggy), teef (teeth), mouf (mouth), trees, house, owl, ruby (max and ruby, we've watched a lot of tv this week), Kilan (another show), eeemo (elmo), town ("all through the town"), rella (cindrella), prince, ovvve-ouuu (love you), ewwww (points to poop), bas (bath), baks (books), puzzle, bubbles, wa-er (water), nake (snake), amel (camel, and then i taught her to spit)

laughing at halle!

DSC06300, originally uploaded by Our Little One.

Kiera: 18 months today!

Today kiera is 18 months old. She is so much fun at this age! she understands everything we tell her and listens some of the time. She is feisty and full of energy! she is very happy and easy going, but is also strong willed and will throw a fit if she doesn't get her way or if you are not understanding her. She loves to laugh a deep, low giggle that is soo cute! she LOVES to play dress up and will bring you a dress and push it into you and grunt, which means, put this on me, then she accessorizes with jewlrey, tiara, high heels, etc.! she also loves to look at books, play with barbies or polly pockets, and get in the bassinet and pretend she's a baby and suck on baby doll bottles. she loves to play with halle and they get along great. kiera understands taking turns and what mine means. they both understand that they can't take things from each other until they set it down (although kiera will take things from other kids, she respects halle). she loves playlands and anything dangerous. she has little fear which makes playgrounds and bounce houses really fun for her! she loves to eat and will eat just about anything we put on her plate. she loves to point to each of us in the family and tell us our names..daddy, mama/mommy, halle. we think kiera is pretty smart, she is talking a lot (if we compare her to halle, who could speak in sentences and knew a few hundred words by this age, then it doesn't seem like she is talking a lot, but if she was my first, then i would think she was doing pretty well).....
some of her words are: cat, meow, meow, daddy home, mine, no, duck, dog, woof, woof, white (snow white, this is one of her favorite words), rella (cinderella), belle , beast (beauty and the beast), eyes, nose, ears, ball, baba, show (tv show), go (i want to leave), night (good night), bye, cheese, meat, balls (peas), fish, shoes, bird, baby, phone, hello, hi, uh-oh, uh-huh, eat, barbie, co-co, horse, Ruthie, book.
we love our little kiki doodles so much, she adds a spark to our family and keeps us on our toes!

the saga continues....

this post will have TMI, but for some reason, i'm still gunna post it...
saturday i felt great, i was up alittle, eating more and my energy was coming back...then my incision site started bleeding , i called the dr. he said gargle with ice water and try to get it to stop, if it doesn't in 15 min. then go the hospital. well it stoped and he told me to lay in bed all day. the next day, i felt pretty good again. around 1 , i started bleeding again, this time, a lot! i was gargling with cold water and spiting it back out, spitting out blood with water, makes it look like twice as much blood is pouring out of your mouth. i was in the bathroom doing this, halle watching, and i was starting to get scared because i could feel tons more blood pouring down my throat. i finally choked out the words, "go get daddy" to halle, which she did. she is luckily to young to be scared and doesn't even know what blood is. after 15 min. i called my neighbor to come over so tom could take me to the hospital. it took her about 15 min. to get there, so after about a half our of bleeding, i ended up throwing up a blood clot that looked like a child's kidney. it really freaked me out. luckily, halle was excited to see our neighbor and her daughter, halle's freind. kiera was luckily asleep. we went to the hospital, my bleeding stoped on the way, but all the blood in my stomach, made me throw up, i was holding a pretty large empty cup and filled it up, it looked like a horror film , and totally freaked me out. i just held it all the way the ER and every time i looked down at it, i yelled to tom, "i think i'm gunna die!!!". we got to the waiting room, waited awhile and then went in a room to wait for the ENT to get there. as soon as he got there, he said, we needed to go to the OR, put me back under, and cauterize the bleed. i was really depressed about that, but was happy my girls were safe and happy. peggy came to relieve my neighbor. after sugery, tom went back home to put the girls to sleep. peggy came to the hospital to see how i was doing. i was absolutly miserable, so she told me she would stay the night with me and i was so happy i didn't want to be alone and be so uncomfortable. i was shivering from the anestesia but the shivering was making me really hot, and they had stuck a suction down my throat to suck all the blood out of my stomach, but i still felt nauseus...it was a miserable evening, but eventually i fell asleep and made it to the morning. the next day and today, i have felt pretty good, just very tired. my pain level is very mild, but i have thrush on my tongue now from taking liquid antibiotics. its very uncomfortable and makes eating irritating. i'm getting medicine for that today, hopefully it works quickly, so i can eat more and gets some of my energy back. the doctor told me to lay in bed for the next few days so i don't bleed again. the dr. said that bleeding like this is very rare, so for it to happen again would be really rare, but i am taking it very easy because i really don't want this to happen again. i just want to be better so bad. I miss playing with my girls so much. i miss talking to them in more then mumbles and i really miss laughing, which has been impossible for over a week now! I miss putting my babies to sleep and taking care of them. they are luckily doing great and are understanding of me being in bed all the time.

thankfully i have some really great freinds that are coming over in shifts this weeks to help take care of me and the kids! and i have some great freinds that are bringing me dinner, well, the family dinner this week, i'm still on jello and soup!

my kiddos

my kiddos are so amazing. they have been so understanding of my being a total blob on the bed and talking in a creepy voice without moving my jaw. i am soooo starving all the time, but i can only eat in little increments and have lost my appitite, so i forget to eat at all sometime...halle can hear my stomach growling when she is playing with me, today she said, "i heard you stomach say, 'i'm hungry'"
halle was in heaven with grandma spoiling her by buying her new skirts with matching shirts, today i told her she could "match or mix" (a line from a barbie book about getting dressed) halle was so excited to start trying on different combinations. to get really into the moment she came up to me and said, "excuse me , ma'm, do you work here?", i said , yes. she said, "do you have a dressing room I can use", i said yes and pointed to a corner behind the couch. she went over came back to me, "that dressing room has a bug in it , do you have another one?'
so, i pointed to another corner. shes so silly, and was right about the bug!
kiki is talking a lot more these days, its really fun to hear her personality come out more and more. she loves the princesses , especially snow white, whom, she calls, "white", one of her favorite words! she also loves to go in the bathroom and start pulling off her pants, saying, "baaa, baaaa" for bath.
she loves to go to night, night when she's tired and tells everyone, "bye" and "night"
now that tom has been putting kiera to sleep, we realized he's better at it then me. i can hear her laughing at all his stories and songs. when he lays her down i hear him say night , night and she always says, "night" back. when he leaves sometimes she calls out, "daddy!" our monitor is also like a walkie talkie and tom gets on it and says, lay down and go to sleep kiki. and she actually listens to him, i never would have thought that would have worked!
tom decided to move kiera's high chair the other direction and closer to the living room so she could watch her cartoons in the morning while she ate. now when kiki is hungry she moves her high chair, and crawls up inside it, sits down and yells out "Eeeeettt, eeeeettt!" its sooo funny!
kiki loves when we say , smile with your eyes closed. she does it and its so cute!
kiki loves dress up clothes. she brings us clothes all the time to put on her. she loves when i turn on music, her signature move, is getting on her toes and pivoting on one foot in a circle.
her favorite book is cinderella. she likes dora, "dowa"
she likes the toy cars in nursery, something we don't have at home.
halle told her friend, "my mom can't talk, she had her tonsils out, she can only go, mmm, mmm"
halle imitated my mumbled grunts without moving her jaw, it was pretty accurate.
i'm grateful that i have good freinds to help me through this recovery. peggy has made me dinner and is making me soup tomarrow and bringing the fam dinner next week. she took halle to the bounce house on friday and then came over friday evening while tom worked to make my kids and me dinner, cleaned my kitchen , loaded the dishwasher, took out all my garbages, and wore out the kids for bed time! she has offered any help i need next week any time!!
tonight tom got called to work, my freind sara came over to help get my kids ready for bed. i felt sick to my stomach so i was really boreing all evening and sara came and cheered up the girls and got them dressed and ready. and, tom's coworker brought me ice cream, yummy! other friends have offered dinners and help, so maybe i'll take them up on it next week!
