Stories

Tom accidently left for church with the car that had the baby car seat base in it. So, I had to put kiera in Halle's usual seat (which is reversable) and put Halle in an old, well used car seat our friends had given us. I got really excited when i told halle this was going to happen, so she wouldn't think she was getting the short end of the stick. Halle followed my cues and was really excited to use the "new" car seat. Halle told Kiera a few times "you are in a big girls seat". halle like the new situation because with kiera being higher and her being lower, she somehow figured out how to put her toes in kiera's mouth and let her chew on them while we were driving to and from church. well this activity was halarious and entertaining to both of them, so call me dirty, but i didn't stop it! after church halle said, mom, am I going to ride home in the new car seat, i said, yes. she said, mom, the new car seat is old. i guess you can only fool them so much, but she was still happy about it.

kiera started babbling, "ma-ma-ma-ma" the first time halle heard it, she ran into the room and said mommy, she can say mama!

tom showed halle the inside of his soda cap where i think the brand was written and asked her what do you think this says, she said, "daddy , you look great!" she knows just what daddy wants to hear!

If I had waited till halle was alittle older to have a baby, things would have been so different. she is so independent these days, not like at 21 months. in the morning she gets up, takes off her diaper and throws it away, undresses and gets dressed, which she likes to do because she is excited about wearing a dress for the day. she brings me a pull up to put on her. she can play alittle bit by herself. she can stay on different levels of the house then me. she does not sit on my lap while i'm nursing the baby. she knows to whisper while i'm nursing the baby and be really quiet when i am putting keekee to sleep. she can stay/walk with me at the grocery store and does not pull things off the shelves. she can get back in her PJs for bed. she tells me when she is tired for nap or bed. she can be reasoned with, she understands, "just a minute", "wait", and "when i'm done with the baby we can do something"...Luckily she has always been really good and really sweet! (disclaimer, when halle is tired, a lot of these things still may not happen)

Halle left me in charge of her baby doll while she went to go get something. she looked just like as she repeated all my usual orders I give to her when I leave the room and ask her to watch Kiera. she said (over and over again), "mommy, make sure she has toys", "not little toys", "don't throw toys around her", "make sure she is happy"

Thanks for the tea set Granny Carol! Halle loves to play with this. Today she had a couple barbies as her guests. She's so cute!

Out for a walk!

The weather has been so nice, especially in the evenings, tom and I have started to take the girls out on walks. We finally bought a jogging stroller, which makes it so much easier to push them. The girls love to be next to each other.

Embarrassing!

Since posting that I should clean out my car, I decided I would finally do it. Tom said if I cleaned it out, he would take it for vaccuming (you can only imagine how bad it needs that!) So, I grabbed the diaper box never guessing that I would fill it up twice (its still filled in this picture, plus the stuff on the table). I thought I should take a picture, in hopes that I would never let this happen again. Go ahead and judge me, but if me and the girls were ever stranded in the car, it would be a LONG time before either complained about being hungry or bored.

*note* this picture does not in any way represent how clean I keep the house, I promise, well, maybe its a little insight into my closet.

Frosting!

After Halle had pretty much licked most of the frosting off this beater from the hand mixer, she gave kiera a lick at it, which Kiera was thrilled about! You're never too young for a beater!

crunchies!

When kiera is laid, or falls , on her back she can pose in this position for a LONG time trying to sit up. Tom calls it her waterslide position. She is really determined that one day she is going to have the abs to just sit right up. Halle usually has sympathy for her and will go push on her back till shes sitting again.

Tea Party!

halle got this tea set from her Southern Granny Carol! She loves having tea parties with daddy (and look at some of the other guests she's invited, buzz and baby) Tom is the best Daddy ever, he will always play with Halle! They have so much fun together!

Need Ideas and update

Thinking about having an Easter party for Halle and freinds. Anyone have ideas on something fun we could do at the party, a cute craft?
Planning a talent show for our church, a talent show can be really funny or really boreing, any ideas on how to make sure it will be fun?

Started making some homeaid baby food for kiera, she loves it!
Kiera learned to clap, its sooo cute!

halle's quotes:
To an employee at Sam's , "My daddy sings in the shower"
"mommy, we are going to snow white's castle, daddy is going to dance with snow white. Daddy is going to marry snow white"
In the stroller, listening to Kiera's constant babbling (mostly da-da-da), halle looks at her confused and says, "Kiera, what are you talking about? Are you talking about Da-da?"
On phone, answering lynn's question , how was church?, "I didn't want to go to nursery. I cried and said, 'I want my mommy and my daddy'" (Halle still won't go to nursery)
In the car, "mommy, you know where Ruthie's house is?" (yes) "Go there."

Love Bugs!

I bought these shirts for the girls to wear to our Valentine's Day Party. (Jen recommends little sisters should have matching shirts for every holiday, thxs Jen!)
As you can see(from other slide show), Halle went to the party as Snow White. When I took her in the dressing room (on our way to the party) to put on the new shirt, she saw herself in the mirror and thought she looked so beautiful. "please don't make me wear that shirt, mom." I knew I wouldn't be able to convince her that the shirt was better then a snow white dress. On the way to the park, she kept saying, "mom, what is ruthie going to say when she sees me?" (me, "i don't know, halle, what?") Halle would say, "Halle, you look so pretty.", and we went through this with each of her friends, whats katelyn going to say, what's taylor going to say. I was glad she felt pretty at the party. This morning, i asked her to wear it for some pictures and to storytime, she was happy about that as long as she got to wear a skirt with it.
When i first put in their matching head bands, it was cute, but in the time it took to get the camera, something went wrong. It wasn't till after I looked through the pictures, that I noticed their matching messy hair.

ps. If you click on view all images, you can see the pictures bigger, (mom)

Halle's Valentine's Day Party

These are pictures from the Valentine's Day Party I had for Halle! I pre-assembled these little love houses, everyone brought a bag of candy, and the kids decorated them. It was a lot of fun! We had some yummy goodies and some of the kids passed out Valentines!

Cute things Halle has said in the past week.

"mommy, is daddy a prince?"
"keekee, when you are bigger, I can teach you how to walk"
In the car: "mommy, me and keekee don't like this song"
dropping her off at church nursery, "mommy , stay with me, i'm too little to stay by myself"
picking her up from nursery: "I missed you ,mommy"
watching aladdin: "mommy, you cover your na-nas like jasmine, I don't cover my na-nas, i need to cover my nanas with a bra"
keekee's first time sitting in a shopping cart, "your doing it keekee, your doing it!!"
to the librarian who is handing out stickers, "i need another one for my baby sister"
when she saw me wearing a new shirt, "I like your shirt, you look like princess Halle"
"daddy, do you want to dance with me? Do you want to fall in love with me?"

having a picnic with barbies

Halle loves to set up this scence and have a picnic with her barbies and ken. Note that each doll has been given one peice of cereal.

halle plays with these for so long! thanks for the barbie shoes, grandma! wow, over 50 pairs! what a lucky barbie!

wow, over a 100 new choking hazards for Kiera! What are we going to do when kiera starts crawling!?!

halle bore her testimony at church looking like this

I made Halle a testimony book with "churchy" pictures, Halle can memorize books pretty easily, so on sunday, she bore her testimony with sentences from the book, i gave her the first word, like, "the book" and she would finish the sentence and say "of mormon is true". it was so cute! plus her hair was all curled up, she's such an angel.

i caught ruthie and halle having a picnic with candy hearts, when things got quiet upstairs, i knew it was time to check on them!

75 degrees! can't beat the winters in GA!

Girls just wanna have fun!!

We have sure been lucky to find some really fun friends, kids and moms, here in Macon!

Ruthie's clubhouse is a blast!!

Halle's new dress!

I bought halle this dress at a thrift store, she fell in LOVE with it!! She wears it everywhere!!
Its pretty hideous, but she thinks its beautiful. I said , what do you think daddy will say when he sees you? she said, "Halle, you look beautiful". somehow tom was able to choke out the words when he saw her!
i dont' know if pictures can even allow you to see how unbelieably gauty this thing is, the whole front is beaded and a huge bow is glued to the back. there were bows on the sleeves that fell off and halle wanted me to put them in her hair. , which i did using a bobby pin, yikes!

Gordon B. Hinckley, 1910-2008

President Gordon B. Hinckley, a prophet of God! We'll miss you!

In memory of our beloved prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley, who passed away last week at the age of 97, I thought this was a great way to honor his legacy and remember his teachings. *Read the Book of Mormon in 97 days*
http://www.hinckleychallenge.com/

"The time has come for us to stand a little taller... It is a time to do what is right regardless of the consequences that might follow. It is a time to be found keeping the commandments. It is a season to reach out with kindness and love to those in distress and to those who are wandering in darkness and pain. It is a time to be considerate and good, decent and courteous toward one another in all of our relationships. In other words, to become more Christlike." (Hinckley)
