Haven't blogged in a while...can't find the camera battery to upload new pictures...hmmmm...where else can i look?
I was finally starting to get better from my tonsil stuff, the weather in GA is amazing 70ish degrees everyday, and we were loving it, but....saturday morning, v-day, halle was standing on the kitchen bench, it started to tip, knocked halle to the ground and then came crashing down on her toes, when i picked it up off her, it was so heavy, i knew whatever it hit was broke, i scooped her up, set her on the couch, put on my shoes and a sweatshirt and headed straight to the ER, halle screamed bloody murder the whole way, and halle is not what i would call a drama queen, so i had never heard her scream like that. luckily, the hospital is 10/15 minutes away...(our second trip to the ER in one week, ahhhh!!)
the ER took us straight to the kids unit, we had given halle tylenol before we left, it kicked in, halle stoped crying, she was a perfect angel for xrays and tons of different nurses coming in the room to see her, they even gave her a pig stuffed animal, halle doesn't get attached to things easily, but still sleeps with "knuckles" every night. She was talking and laughing with me, even told me that it stoped hurting alittle, but i knew it was broke, and i was right, she broke the first and second toe. a nurse came in and cleaned it, she asked halle if she was hurting her, halle said yes, but would have never complained on her own, halle still hasn't complained one bit, shes such a sweetheart. halle said, "yes, it hurts and your hands are berry, berry cold!" then halle turned to me, "mom, you know what we forgot to do before we left the house? Put on our makeup"
they wrapped it up, then brought in a blue boot. the man asked halle if she liked the boot. halle said, "no, its a boy boot". of course, as soon as we got home, we decorated it in glitter glue, and diamonds, can' t wait to post pictures, its pretty amazing, halle loves it! the hospital staff asked halle quite a few times how this happened (i'm sure this is standard to weed out child abuse) halle got sick of telling the same story, so finally said, " a magic bench flew in my kitchen and landed on my toes"....haha...my story definetly started to sound suspicious!
we got home, halle never complained, but every 4 hours , like a clock, even through the night, asked for more medicine. the first time, she was eating mac and cheese, i think the onset of pain caught her by surprise, she said, "mom, these noodles are going straight through my body, down to my toe and making it hurt"
the dr. said it would throb at night, halle slept in bed with me, she moaned and woke up, but still has not cried about it, shes such a trooper, i would totally be crying about it!
she almost cried about missing church, it had to stay elevated for 48 hours, i promised she would go next week. i have taken her out everyday this week in hopes of her not getting too bored sitting around the house. i put her in the wagon, with her foot on a pillow. she wanted her foot on a pillow all week. today i finally convinced her to just sit in the stroller when we went out. we went to storytimes, museum, mcdonalds, ect. she likes the attention she is getting, i'm glad she is getting it! halle and kiki have stayed happy, i wish this had not had happened so close to my tonsillectomy because we have already spent so much time sitting around and watching cartoons and playing with toys in my bed, but the girls don't mind, they are happy. I feel soooo grateful that she only broke her toes and had a clean break, this could have been worse if it fell on her foot. it has still been a long week of carrying her around and being on call day and night for her every need. i had taken for granted how independent she had become. she used to get up in the morning, throw out her pull up and get dressed from head to toe, hair done, clothes, shoes, makeup, accessories. and of course, a princess cannot lay around in pjs, she still wants me to dress her in a dress everyday! today she started crawling around the house a little bit and taking back some of her jobs, like getting dressed and undressed. the dr. said after about 10 days she could limp on it, halle is scared to death to have anything touch her foot, esp the ground, so i don't know when she will realize that she can limp on it. kiera has been surprisingly uninterested in her foot, well, everytime she even looks at it, i say, no-no, don't touch. today halle said, "mama, i will show her how to touch my toes, i will teach her", then halle took kiera's hand and let her softly touch her foot, it was really sweet.
the girls are dealing with the insanity of boredom better then me...i'm just sorta exhausted, as i feel like i could have used one more week of good sleep to recover from my surgery, oh well, at least we'll be back to normal soon enough! at least i have tons of toys, so i can keep a steady stream of different toys coming to halle and kiki, and they are things they can do on their laps. we play dr a lot now with our ace bandages, and today me and halle held a jump rope, aka, long peice of tape, for kiera to jump and then go under. kiera is like are very own puppy dog that will follow all sorts of crazy commands! i am happy that i have such happy, silly girls to stay up beat and keep me going!
"ohhhhhhh, kiki" (me and halle say this a lot during the day, at all the crazy stuff kiki does!)
kiki has decided that she gets an adrenaline rush jumping from the ottoman to the couch, which is really a dive and ends in a belly flop on the couch. and she does it over and over again.
kiki took her diaper off and got in the empty bath tub and pooped, then when i was giving halle her bath, she jumped in with her diaper on!
kiki has become a little parrot and repeats everything you say, and ask her to say, halle enjoys teaching her new words, which kiki repeats back, then halle gets excited. some of kiki's words are clear but others are garbled, which is funny to us , because we are starting to memorize them and use them, for example, "bet-chup": ketchup, which if she sees , she must have!
kiki says "hi" and waves to everyone she sees when we go out!
some of kiki's new words this week are:
Poggy (peggy), teef (teeth), mouf (mouth), trees, house, owl, ruby (max and ruby, we've watched a lot of tv this week), Kilan (another show), eeemo (elmo), town ("all through the town"), rella (cindrella), prince, ovvve-ouuu (love you), ewwww (points to poop), bas (bath), baks (books), puzzle, bubbles, wa-er (water), nake (snake), amel (camel, and then i taught her to spit)

oh poor Halle. I love her comment about forgetting to put her makeup on before she left. She is such a cutie-I love her personality.
look at kiera with her cute words! You need to get video of her saying some. I want to hear her especially becasue she is sooo darn cute!
Love the update on your girls. So cute! Still feeling bad for Halle. That's so sad! I didn't see her at church, either (not that we ever really see anyone).
Anytime you need a fresh place out, we're here. Em isn't contagious, although she's still needing to stay close to the potty.
