i haven't done a lot of posts just about kiki, so here is one:
kiki loves this lady bug dress. she can wear it for days, steal it out of the dirty laundry basket and hide it in her room and come out in it when your least expecting it. it is size 18 month, even snaps on the bottom and she would be devastated if i got rid of it.
she likes to quickly do her own hair, like in this picture, to avoid having me do it.
she is very sensitive, can easily get her feelings hurt or cries about her boo boos (both opposite of halle)
she is very affectionate
just when she is about to drive you over the edge, she senses it and says the nicest thing, like "your the nicesst mommy in the whole world"
she says a few words to halle and then "tell mommy" and lets halle give the entire explanation of what she is talking about, what two year old wouldn't love having a full time translator around....it has come in useful many times. i often say, "halle, whats she talking about"
she loves playing pretend and her and halle come up with some crazy adventures.
she adores halle , whorships the ground she walks on, can't stand if halle is upset, asks for the second she wakes up in the morning. she is always trying to love on halle, hug her, kiss her, snuggle with her (halle is not into snuggling with her while watching tv and i can tell it is disappointing to kiki). she mimicks everything she says and does. and tells everyone, halle is my best freind!
she loves little things, little stuff animals and trinkets and can get easily attached to something that fits in her fist and carry it around all day and sleep with it.
she perfers to play with older kids, halle's age and above, won't really play with kids around her age, but if she sees an older girl somewhere and they give her any attention, she'll assume they are great freinds and grab their hands and insist they play with her. usually girls are fine with this, sometimes its funny when she does it to a way older girl, once at a jump house she just grabbed a 13ish girls hand and followed her around, when the girl and her friends sat down to talk in a circle, kiki just sat on the girls lap.
the girls have adoptive grandparents at church. now kiki thinks all older men are her freinds (dangerous, i know, haha) and went over to an old man at the pool and sat on his lap. i got her off so fast.....but she cracks me up how she thinks everyone is in love with her.
kiki is always trying to get a laugh out of the family or friends, she loves to blurt out potty words and of course we all crack up.
favorite things to do:
polly pockets and barbies (if i play with them, the girls could play this all day)
sit at vanity and do hair
cook with me
read dinosaur or ariel books
puzzles
eat yogurt!!!
dance and tumble
play with guinea nibbles
snuggle

my kiki bear!
the recital
the recital turned out to be one of my happiest moments as a mother so far. the look on halle's face in this picture just shows how happy she was that day, she felt like a princess and it was a dream come true for her to be dancing on stage in front of 100s of people, something she has been asking to do since she was 2 years old (of course kiera was begging to go on stage too and kept reminding me that when she is 3 she is going to do ballet)
i was so excited for her, she was so comfortable on stage, not even nervous. halle thought that learning the songs was part of it and sang along to alot of it, which was so cute! i put some make up on her and glitter on her body and hair. the tumbling outfit was sooo cute and when halle described it to grandpa, i heard her on the phone say, "it was just the cutest thing i've ever seen"
the pigs
these guinea pigs have been well tortured, i mean loved by the girls. this one is guinea nibbles, she lets you do anything to her and never runs. its the perfect pet for kiki who just wants to snuggle up to it all the time, so halle let her have it and took apples, the one that is much more wild....halle thinks apples is cuter and halle thinks she trained guinea nibbles and now wants the challenge of training apples, so she was happy to switch. since kiki usually just sits there and pets and feeds guinea nibbles she is good with her, but here are some of the many things i've had to say to kiki over the past two weeks:
"don't put her in your purse"
"get her out of your shirt"
"don't touch her eyes"
"guinea pigs can't dance" (she was holding her up on two feet"
"don't force her to eat"
"guinea pigs can't shake" (like a dog shakes with one paw)
"you must at least have underware on if you are going to play with them"
"she's not a pillow, kiera"
"you can't lick her" (i was expecting this one)
"i dont' think she likes riding on a stuff animal"
"she doesn' t have wings" (kiera pulls her skin out on both sides and flaps it like she is a fairy with wings)
"you can't hold her like a baby"
overall kiera is suprisingly gentle with them and the guinea pigs never bite, so they are a great pet.
fashion expert
halle's latest fashion statement, she even wore the gloves out!
"mom, am i good at coming up with different styles?" she loves to hear me answer yes to this question. at the store (walmart or dollar tree) she loves to go through the fake flower section and arrange them in a vase (kiki does too) the other day i told her all about what a florist does for a job, she thought that was the coolest job and told me she wanted to be a hair stylist and a florist. i think she might be an interior designer too...the other day we were talking about talents, i asked her her talents, she said, i can pick out beautiful curtains and i can make rooms look beautiful! for grandma's visit, i told her to decorate the guest room, she was so excited to decorate with her stuff animals and trinkets from her room. her personality definetly came with her, she did not inherit any of these "talents" from me!

guinea pigs!
grandma garrett visited last week for halle's ballet recital. while here i mentioned wanting to get the girls guinea pigs and she said we could go to the store and she would get them one!!! it was so exciting. me and tom had decided a long time ago that we would never have a pet, which was fine, we are not animal lovers.....but after having the turtle,i realized that the benefits of having a pet could out way the disadvantages. the advantages being that the girls can spend hours just sitting there petting something. the disadvantage being that i have to clean a cage. i had to think of the one, and only animal that i can stand (literallly, i am disgusted by almost every animal) but i had guinea pigs when i was little and i think they are cute. so far, i am happy with the guinea pigs. the girls spend hours playing with them, i have found the time to read the entire conference ensign, something that usually takes me a year....
i had to sit very close to kiera while she held them for the first week, now,i just need to be in the same room. she knows most of the rules now and is very sweet with them! halle picked one and kiki picked one, then they switched. halle's is named apples and kiki's is named guinea nibbles. but they mostly share them.

strawberry picking
we ate are weight at the strawberry patch this year. we went a few times and loved it! its one of our favorite things to do here in the sping!
apple head
this is our turtle , apple head. when i let it go, i mean, when it jumped out of its cage, the girls were so sad. halle came up with the idea to write it good bye letters. she drew pictures of turtles on paper for her and kiki to color. then she told me what to write on the letter. "we sure loved you apple head. you were so nice. we will miss you. we know you didn't like it when kiki dropped you. you were a good turtle. we love you"
KIKI LOVE
kiki loves to love on us. she is soooo affectionate.....minus her licking.....i love her being that way
In Love!
kiki and halle LOVED this turtle that tom picked up in the road for them. the girls spent soooo much time petting it, yes, stroking its shell, and watching it run around the backyard. I got tired of making them wash their hands everytime they touched it, i hear turtles can carry diseases...yuck.....i don't like turtles anyways....
the girls figured out if you cough in its face, it opens its mouth, so they did that forever and laughed their heads off....while if kiera gets too happy or excited, she licks you, just like a puppy dog and when halle told me she licked the turtle, i was so grossed out!!! the turtle just happened to jump out of its cage that night!!
goop
this was a mixture of cornstarch and water. we played with this for a LONG time. its really fun and even i had a good time. and the left over red paint on the table from an earlier project made it turn pink!
later in the week we made salt dough....this was a messy , but really fun week!
EDIBLE PLAYDOUGH
i found a recipe for this, basically it was oatmeal cookie dough without the eggs, baking powder instead, so after you play with it you can bake it. the girls liked it, played with it, ate it, we baked it, and ate some more. It was really good, but i'll eat anything with brown sugar and butter in it!

one of my fav pics
this is one of my favorite pictures i've ever taken of the girls! too bad the background is awful!
me, "halle if you were an animal, you would be a guinea pig"
halle, "why, because i have chubby cheeks and i like to snuggle?"
halle gave the scripture at church yestarday. i "wrote" the scripture out in hyroglyphics, like 5 pictures to trigger her memory....halle did great, she was alittle nervous, because i didnt' go up with her to do it, but i knew if she did it by herself, she would be so proud of herself. only one little mistake....she said, "except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the CASTLE of God"
i guess my picture of a kingdom, looked the same as a castle.....it was cute~!
today the worker at the gym told me that halle always stands up for kiki and doesn't let anyone be mean to her! i was sooo happy to hear that!
we got two guinea pigs. we are all in love with them! (yes, me and tom included) kiki holds them and says softly, "its ok, its ok" we call her the pig whisperer.....she cannot get snuggled up close enough to the guinea pig and has told me a few times, "mommy, i'm in love with guinea nibbles"
