Did you know I have the Greatest son in law? Tom is so amazing and what a wonderful father he truly is! It's wonderful to watch him with his girls, and I wish so much I could see him more as he is such a special, dedicated, devoted husband and father. I am thankful each day for a son in law that provides for my daughter and family in such a way that she is able to fulfill her lifelong DREAM to be a stay at home mom, and mother her children to pieces!! There is a saying about if you want to know how a man will treat your daughter, watch how he treats his mother. Tom honors and respects his mother to the utmost, and what a “gift” that is for any mother. When Tom would visit Salt Lake, he would always make the time to go see his Grandma Smith too. I remember the last time Lori and the girls were visiting and Halle was missing her daddy, and one day on the phone, we all heard her say “Daddy, wanna come to Grandma’s house?!!” Willie and I still talk about that and the love she had in her voice, and then one time when they went to the airport to pick up Tom after Lori and the girls had been here for a vacation and Tom was coming out to spend a few days Halle was screaming and squealing with excitement to see him again!. Tom sat in the back with her just to be together. He is her “prince”!! There isn’t anything in the world like seeing a little girl with her daddy who she loves and ADORES, and I know this is how Halle and Kiera both feel about Tom. I remember the day I knew Tom should receive “Father of the Year” award, and that was the day I saw his picture on Lori’s blog playing “Pretty Princess” with Halle! It was at that moment I knew there wasn’t anything in THE WORLD he wouldn’t do for his girls! Tom has so many genuine qualities that I know he will pass on to his children, his patience, sense of humor, generosity, determination and hard work, putting the Lord and family first in all he does. The simplest things make Tom so happy – a loaf of Grandma Sycamore’s white bread, chocolate covered pretzels, tropical “DOTS”, a good competitive game, and a good sandwich or dinner! It’s so fun to cook for Tom because he appreciates and enjoys a good meal! There have been things Tom has been willing to do for me that no one else in the world (in their right mind) would even attempt, such as teaching me to play KANASKA, or talking me through a computer problem over the phone! Those are the kinds of things that show Tom’s amazing patience and love. I’m so thankful for his example, his worthiness in the Priesthood he honors, the life he provides for his family. I am so thankful for my son in law Tom, and I want the world to know I feel so blessed knowing he is Halle and Kiera’s dad! I love you Tom, Love, momma Lopez
Tom, it is wonderful to be able to see your sweet family online! You guys are the best! Your girls are beautiful. I'm so glad that you can be in the 'same neck of the woods' with Sue & Scott & kids. Let's keep in touch. Love, Aunt Linda
