some days, i can' t believe how lucky i am to get to snuggle with this little doll....and she is such a snuggler!
after this photo was taken, i bedazzled this outfit....its so stinkin cute!
a while back , we went to wild adventures, it was a bout a three hour drive, so tom took a day off work so we could go on a weekday....
we had soo much fun, its an amuesment park, plus they have tons of animals like the zoo.
halle quotes :
halle, "mommy, why did you just call daddy, daddy? his name is tom."
me, "i can call him daddy"
halle, "no, you can call him tom, he's not your daddy."
halle often makes up words if she doesn't know something and teaches it to kiera, i think it makes her feel smart, but its annoying to me because kiera trusts her and repeats it.
after one incident:
me, "halle, that is not an fjkdasafkda;f ....don't tell her that"
halle, "yes it is a dfkajkfjdka;jk"
me, "no halle, its not"
halle, "yeah, it is mom, i looked it up online"
halle woke up and said this to me:
"mom, we are best freinds today, tomorrow and always"
(i think its a quote from barbie diamond castle, but it still made my day)
halle calls all the adults in primary at church her teachers. i asked her which teacher was her favorite.
halle, "sister bennion"
me, "shes not your teacher anymore" (was her nursery teacher a long time ago"
halle, "but i still really like her hair"
kiki, "i want to play puter (computer). i want to play barbie dot com"
kiki brushes my hair alot and then says, "you look buful"
i bought superhero dress ups a few months ago at a yard sale, i couldn't resist for a dollar a peice, although i figured the girls would never wear them (boys come for playdates and like them)
halle finally gave in and put one on the other day....we have fashion shows in our hall, the girls go in the room, shut the door and then i announce them and they strut down the cat walk..."lets play fashion show!" thats what they call it.....
anyways, halle came out in this the other day, i laughed as she struted down the hall in heels (i guess she had to still feel like a woman)....at the end i told her to pause for a picture, her "mean" face cracked me up!
halle calls them the twins, i told her 3 was triplets, but since she knows more then me, she insists they are twins....their names, angelina, alice and isabella...
she loves taking care of them, mostly they nap, like this, in her room!
another day of ballet! over the past 3 years of yard sale shopping i have accumulated about 10-15 different leatards....halle loves to wear a different one every time! i even started to bedazzle them and they look so cute!
this is the girls right before ballet....kiera likes to dress up for ballet too...but since there are no windows...we cannot watch what halle is doing, so kiera is not jealous....she actually enjoys our one on one time, i bring books or crayons...
seeing halle in ballet makes me so happy....its like a dream come true for her, she loves it so much and is so excited for her recital, she has been talking about being on stage in front of people and dancing and having people throw roses at her for over a year!
halle thinks the bigger the smile, the cuter the face, and the less likely i will be to get upset with her...its a great theory, it usually works! when she gets out of bed at night after i've put her to sleep...she comes and finds me and makes this face, it usually does make me laugh....sometimes if she asks for something and i say no, she'll make this face, and of course, i cave!
this was a kids version of the zipper...the cages didn't spin....the girls had so much fun, it was one of their favorite rides, they felt so cool in there by themselves, thats them in the very top one.
we bought season passes to six flags , we went on saturday and monday over labor day weekend...we spent about 8 hours there each day....we are so excited to go back, the girls loved it and me and tom had a great time too!! luckily, it reopened quickly after the flooding since they have a lot of halloween stuff going on in oct.
the girls are both fearless and love rides! we even convinced our friends to buy passes too, so we can go with them and we all went on monday! the kids liked having friends...they have 2 boys, the same ages as our two girls!
kiera found this prince eric doll (who, at one time, had clothes) and held on to him for a few days, day and night....she fell sleep like this at 6 flags, i thought other people must think it looked strange...but since she thinks she is ariel, she is in love!
i put kiera to sleep, she snuck out of bed, took off her night gown and changed into this dress up dress, got back in bed and fell asleep....i found her like this and had to take a picture...this dress has the most poof of any dress we own...i had to strip her down in the middle of the night so she wouldn't overheat!
this is one of the girls favorite activities...they gather all the baby dolls from around the house, there are at least 10, and put them all to sleep, the extra bottom bunk has worked out great for this!
we have been getting better at family scripture reading and family prayer at the end of the night (nothing like a sticker chart to help us remember!)....the other night we forgot and the next morning halle had pulled the scriptures into bed with her and told me , "mom, we forgot to read last night, so i had to do it by myself and we forgot to say prayers, so i said it by myself" i was so happy, i asked her what she said and she told me the cutest little prayer. another cute prayer story: we usually take turns praying for meals and night, but kiki really doesn't care who's turn it is to pray, she is always shouting out the prayer right along with the person praying. halle just figures she wants it to be her turn, so she usually just offers to "whisper" in kiera's ear what she should say. its really cute. kiera's prayer by herself is usually something like this : "thank you, for day! thank you, for mommy, daddy, halle, thank you, food, JC, amen!"
Halle told me yestarday, "mom, chew like this" and then she had her mouth closed while she chewed (obviously, she hasn't learned her manners from me)..."this way, not everyone will see the food in your mouth. When i am alone, i chew with my mouth open."
in the car on the way to church, i was "preping" the girls for church....when we get to church, we can't run, we use our whisper voices. We need to think about Jesus and how much he loves us and we need to be quiet, so that other people can think about Jesus....then kiki said, while holding up her ariel doll, "mommy, tell ariel about Jesus"
kiera is sooo sensitive compared to halle, she cries if you say no to her or use a less then cheerful voice to give her an order. this is her usual display: she runs off crying, lays on her belly with her hands in her face , cries for a bout 5 seconds and then runs back to me and says, "Hurt feelings, mommy, say sorry!" i apologive to kiki a few times a day.
halle doesn't like my voice to be at all stern either...she'll say, "your voice is hurting my feelings"
there is a stray cat in our neighborhood, our neighbor told me she took it in for shots and it had been nutered as well, she is taking care of it, basically, so i decided to let my girls play with it in the backyard....they were sooo happy. they played with it for over an hour. this cat was defenitly a family cat that someone got rid of, because it let the girls do anything to it. they pushed in on the baby swing, down the slide, in their toy cars, forcing her hands on the steering wheel and yelling , "drive it, drive it", then they wrapped in a wet blanket that had been left outside, cuddled with it, carried it around. it was pretty funny. i gave them milk and tuna for it, it had entertained them for over an hour, i guess it earned the food, plus i hoped it would come back and entertain them another day, it was such a relaxing morning. tom even took halle to the store to buy cat food for it (halle really has tom wrapped around her finger). halle named the cat candy cane butterfly flowers. kiki said, "its not candy cane, its kitty cat"..."thats her name", halle explained. later i asked kiki the cats name, "its candy cane and butterfly"....i had never seen my girls interact with an animal that much before, it was funny to see that they talked to it like it could understand everything they were saying. halle had full conversation with the cat, and kiera said , "you like ariel, kitty cat?" while she held her ariel doll in its face.
this is kiki's attempt to change her own diaper! thanks, kiera, this is so helpful! i had to take a picture to get some sympathy...poop was rubbed so deep into the carpet, thank goodness for carpet shampooers....this is not the only time she has done this, everytime she poops, she rips off her diaper, usually i can catch her in the act, but a few times when she is alone in her room for a nap, she has done this, gotten out wipes and tried to pick it up off the floor, which smears it even worse. we have been working at potty training, she always pees on the potty, but rarely poops...gross!!!!
here's the cake i made....after halle's princess cake (click to view)....i thought i had learned enough beginners mistakes so this one would be easy....it still took me a LONG time...but it was actually really fun and kiki and halle were sooo excited to see it, i even let halle place the figures...and let tom talk me into using a peice of plastic for a giant wave...and then i used brown sugar and white sugar for the sand....now to start thinking about a tinkerbell cake for halle's party in a few months!!! thanks grandma G for the figures....what a hit!
halle saw me putting the boarder on and said..."i like the sea anemones!" she's such a smartie pants...i just learned what an anemone was about a month ago.
i guess i could have cleaned off the table to take a decent picture....i seriously used every bowl in my kitchen during the process of making this thing....what a mess!!!
the cake was 4 boxes of cake mix and we ate almost the entire cake!!! there were over 50 people at the party...about 30 kids and 20 adults!!! who knew kiki was so popular!!! we have been lucky to make some really great friends here and they made this party soooo much fun!!!!
i made the poster board pictures and halle made the one on the right...it's an ocean , with fish...then i cut out fish and blind folded the kids and we played pin the fish in the ocean...it was fun...you always win and halle was happy that she made a game for the party....we also played mermaid races (aka...potato sack races, aka....jump in a pillow case races)... and while the kids were eating cake and ice cream , tom scattered candy all over the playground....then the kids went on a treasure hunt stuffing there pockets full of candy...this was really fun....like an easter egg hunt....there were kids from age 1-10 at the party, so this was a good game to play because everyone loves finding candy!
all of the kids loved "helping" kiera open the present they gave her...kiera just kept opening peices of gum that she found on the treasure hunt...she is excited to have some toys of her own, that she knows are hers! halle asked if she could have the mermaid barbie and kiki could have the ariel barbie doll, kiki said yes and they were both happy!
kiki got the coolest presents....i am sooo excited to have new stuff to play with too! what a lucky girl!!!
halle is so excited that her birthday is coming up!! she is already helping me plan her tinkerbell party and was inviting some of the guests to come back to her party in october, she even told tom's co-worker what she could bring...a tinkerbell barbie doll...i can't wait to use these birthday wings and headband at the girls parties for the next few years...our friend brought them for kiera....they say "happy birthday" on them...so cute!!!
really, it doesn't get much cuter then this! kiki carried around the mermaid ariel doll for the rest of the party and then put on some of her other gifts...as soon as she woke up the next morning, she was asking me to put on her earrings and necklace!
these were the decor that i drew and hung up.....coloring with markers is somewhat theraputic and really fun...now to get working on my tinkerbell decor!
what a fun day!! thank you to everyone who came and spoiled my little girl and helped make her day special!!!
tom took off work last friday so we could go to the rock ranch...we had the best time! i made the traditional "Lopez" picnic, salami and swiss subs, bbq chips, and rice crispy treats, yummmm...we had so much fun!
