Giggly girl!

kiera is so giggly, all the time. she is very loud, always screaming just to hear herself scream and babbling. I don't remember Halle being so loud and giggly like this. I have more videos of kiera,she is easier to tape, Halle is halarious, but it is hard to capture her spontaneous moments and funny oneliners. She is starting to get annoyed at me pulling out the camera. She knows, by heart, tons of songs, itsy bitsy, abc's, i am a child of God, Love is spoken here, ect. but she will not sing in front of the camera, she knows i want her too. She loves to shake her butt and sing, "stinky butt dance" , she is sooo funny. we were buying bathing suits at target and i told her to get undressed so we could try one on,she said, "mom, i dont' want people to see my butt hanging out". she likes to talk to keekee and says mom, make her talk to me, and laughs when i say in a baby voice, "hi, halle"

Halle at the Circus!

pre-show at the circus, halle and ruthie both got a turn jumping rope! Halle loved the circus, the elephants were her favorite (she called them Tica, from the movie barbie island princess, or how halle says it "tea-cup"). Kira slept for the first hour, but loved the second hour, it was the longest she has ever gone just sitting there , not fussing! we all had a fun time! it was the ringling brothers circus, but low budget, i guess they only bring out one ring (instead of their traditional 3 ring act) in small towns. more pictures are on my flickr site.

Halle at Ruthie's house!

today Halle got babysat for the first time (i guess, technically Lynn babysat her while I was in labor, so the first time going to a friends house). this was a big step for both of us! she was so excited! and she even whinned about leaving. me and tom went out to lunch for his birthday! Keekee came with us and sat in a bumbo chair at our booth eating veggie puffs. it was nice to go out! Yumm...Indian food!

Big sister giving little sister the rules! Halle loves to tell kiera what she can and can't have. should come in helpful later on , halle will help me keep kiera away from choking hazards,like barbie shoes.

she tells keekee, you can not have this, then says something about having to be bigger and then she can have it if she wants to. i'm sure whens she's bigger, halle will think of another reason why kiera can't have her things.

Hugs

the girls get sooo excited to see each other, i'm trying to capture that on video, they scream and hug. this wasn't a spontaneous hug, it was my idea, but still cute!

kiera is soooo happy now that she eats and sits up. she feels like she is a part of the group now in her high chair at the table and sitting up and playing barbies all day with me and halle. she doesn't want to miss out on anything that is going on. she sleeps less then halle. a morning cat nap 30min, an afternoon nap, 1 hour, and an evening nap (sometimes) for 30 min. and she wakes up at 5:30/6am! she is so loud and hyper and giggly, i think she is going to be fun little girl!

Halle loves to feed baby sister!

these girls have so much fun together! Halle doesn't want any help feeding Kiera (or any help with anything).

Kiera loves to eat, we just started last week, and she loves it, she hardly ever wants to nurse during the day now, she even likes to drink water from a sippy cup and eat cheerios and veggie puffs. halle did not take to eating (she loved to nurse, did it for a year and a half). but halle never liked (still doesn't like) mushy food, so she started eating at about 8 month when i just started giving her table food. kiera gobbles up 2-3 bowls a day. it won't be long till she gets table food. she loves peaches and oatmeal! she still nurses at night, shes way to distracted by halle during the day. but she never really took to nursing, i'm sure at night she's too tired to fight it.

Alternative vaccine scheduale

Is it worth the trouble to spread a baby's vaccines out over more visits so less shots are given at a time?

The main difference in my suggested alternative vaccine schedule is it spreads the infant vaccines out over the first few years of life, instead of bunching them all up in the first 18 months. It gives fewer vaccines at a time, gives the most important vaccines first, and slightly delays the less important vaccines. But ultimately the end result is the same - a fully vaccinated child. What are the benefits of my alternative schedule compared to the standard one?
By only giving two vaccines at a time (instead of as many as 6), I decrease the chance of chemical overload from grouping so many vaccines chemicals all together at once. This allows a baby's body to better detoxify the chemicals one or two at a time.
I give only 1 aluminum-containing vaccine at a time (instead of the recommended 4). Overloading on this metal can be particularly toxic to the brain (See Resources, page ___ of The Vaccine Book to view the research on this).
I give only one live-virus vaccine component at a time to allow the body's immune system to better handle the live viruses in these vaccines.
Giving fewer shots at a time may decrease the side effects, in my experience.
Giving fewer shots at a time also makes it easier to figure out which vaccine a child is reacting to if a severe reaction occurs.
Sure, vaccinating this way means more visits to the doctor's office, more gas money, more insurance co-pays and more time off work to take your baby in. BUT, some parents may decide it's worth the extra time, money and trouble.

anyone who knows me, knows I love dr. sears and frequently quote from his books, "The Baby Book" is one of my bibles. his website is full of valuable information on parenting, i respect what he says. He is highly against "baby training" books and theories, me too! and is all about natural, follow instincts, attachment parenting. anyways, this is the reason why i am waiting to vaccinate, thought it was interesting.

The Traveling Sleeper

all us sisters have put our babies in this sleeper. we call it the baby who outfit. it looks like something a dr.suess character would wear. i know i have a picture of aidan in it, but its packed away in a box still. this sleeper is newborn size. melanie swore she gave it to me when i was pregnant with Keekee. I moved the week before i had Keekee,so i had packed and unpacked all my stuff, the sleeper was not in my possession, but everyone assumed i lost it. last week mom found it at her house and mailed it to me ASAP in hopes that somehow i could shove keekee in it and not break tradition. well, i didn't think it could be done, but with a little stretching and shoving, i got her in it, took a few pictures and took it back off her to mail to Lynn for little Lucy. What a weird tradition we have going. at least keekee won't be cursed for not taking her turn!

kiera

I thought i should say something about kiera, since i just wrote all that about halle. kiera sits really well now, she loves to suck on her toes! she laughs the hardest at Halle. she started nawing on biter bisquits, but when they get all spitty and gross halle takes them and throws them away. mommy, it got nasty!
kiera will always smile when we look at her. i've found that i have to avoid eye contact with her in the middle of the night because she will start smiling and lauging if i look at her and it takes a lot longer to rock her back to sleep.

cute halle stories

Halle is so excited to have 2 new frilly dresses! she wears them everyday! she loves to go up to people and say you like my pretty dress?
at the store the other day i took halle into a dressing room to feed the baby. of course the one day i don't bring a diaper bag with me , kiera poops. i said, halle, can give me your pull up. she said, no. so i waited a minute, and then said, halle, guess what? kiera pooped and i dont have a diaper for her and she will be so sad if she has to sit in a dirty diaper. so halle thought for a second and said, can she have my pull up?
halle found my scriptures yestarday and said, mom,you want me to read you the scriptures, i said sure. so she opened them up and said, Long ago in a far a way land there were two step sisters, anastasia and drizzella, and they ripped the dress right off of cinderella!
halle loves to try to make us laugh. she likes to show us the pictures of the monsters in the dr.suess books and say, that one looks like daddy or that one looks like mommy and then laughs hysterically.
yestarday i told her that lynn was having a baby named Lucy and i was putting some baby clothes in a box for her. halle got so excited and started finding books and toys to put in the box, saying, you think lucy would like this and this?
halle hears moms at playgroups threaten time out and asks me the other day, mom, can i go to time out?
halle had a bag of chips in the car that she didn't want to share, so when tom asked for one, she said, i can't daddy, i'm in back and i can't reach you.
halle loves that it has been raining and she can use her umbrella, which she still calls her gorilla.

halle loves to pretend that she has a freind that is a monster. she is so excited about her "new" imagination!

Whoops!

kiera started sitting and is really good at it! in this video the wind blew her over. Due to sleep depervation, my reaction time has been slowed and i wasn't able to catch her before she face plants. I told tom that sleep depervation was making me dumber everyday. He said , give me an example. ok, in the last month, i've knocked the mirror off the car 3 times while pulling out of the garage. tom said, you were a horrible driver long before you had kids.

Kiera has been sleeping in 2 hour blocks at night, for the last 3 nights! yea!! this is the best she has done since she was born. i was up with halle every 2 hours for a year, so i know i can do that. up every hour was crazy! life is back to normal again! We love her again, (just kidding, we never stoped, we just love her more now)

Hair Compare!

comparing their hair is sad, poor halle. i am finding hair on kiera's blankets and sheets, we are still holding out hope that she will not go bald. (also, look at kiera, she learned to sit!)

Who's fatter?

the one on the bottom is Halle at 51/2 months and the top is a pic of keekee 51/2 months. Kiera seems like a tiny baby to me, but at her last dr.apt, she was actually in the 80% for weight and 98% for height, so really Halle was just such a fatty. at this age halle weighed 20# and Kiera 16#. Halle couldn't even smile in this pic, her cheeks were too heavy to move.

Potty Training

In the long run it's worth it. Right now, taking a 2 year old to a public restroom is gross, dragging a baby into the stall with us, really gross!

Yes, Halle is in pjs. and has no shoes on in the outdoors. Halle is in pjs in every picture on this blog and never wears shoes. Don't we all wish we could live our lives barefoot in pjs. She loves to be comfortable.

Christmas

Halle asked Santa for a Cinderella dress and of course he came through for her! she was devestated when i told her that sunday that she couldn't wear it to church. I felt bad. She wears it all the time and never wants to leave the house so she doesn't have to ever take it off

these are the pjs i bought her for christmas, princess pjs that were warmer then her night gown. she was excited to put them on for a little while, but still insists on her night gown, they were not femenine enough for her. oh well, maybe kiera will like them someday

halle and keke are sooo cute together. at the mall one day. i was chasing halle with stroller (and keke in it). when we would crash into halle, the girls were laughing so hard, keke could hardly breathe!

The Keke

Keke is still a mess. She is so fussy (more then her usual fussy self) I don't think she is pain free from her ear infection, the meds are giving her diarriah, the diarriah is giving her a rash, the antibiotics have given her a yeast infection, the yeast infection has given her thrush, the thrush makes her like nursing even less then she already did, all combined she is up every , 30-45 minutes. on a good night (even before she was sick) she is up every hour, but since being sick she likes to be up for an hour or two in the middle of the night. so there's my sob story for the night. I think God knew that if he was going to send me a baby with her temperment and demands, he was going to have to send me the cutest stinkin baby ever so that I could never get mad at her. Because honestly, take a look at this child! Yestarday, me and her went to the mall to shop. people were asking me to stop so they could look at her. In one store the workers could not get over her, they were making her laugh and putting clips in her hair. I'm totally in love with this little one!

Princess Halle

For some reason Halle has decided to only let Tom change her poopy diapers. Tom is convinced that somehow I talked her into this. Anything I try to tell Halle to do, she usually does the opposite. She insists that he do it and not me, and Halle being the queen of this castle, always has the final say. For me , its the best thing that could have ever happened!
She also decided that tom should be the one to give her a bath at night. This is easy to figure out though, tom is fun and I give Keke a bath at the same time so i don't have my hands free to be that much fun. But Tom doesn't mind giving Halle a bath every night, its the poops thats getting to him!
Princess Halle has also decided that a real lady wears a night gown and not pants to bed, so even in the middle of the winter she is sleeping in a night gown (and wearing it whenever we are home, if you notice in all the videos she is in it).

HOW TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE READY TO HAVE KIDS (Author Unknown)

MESS TEST Smear peanut butter on the sofa and curtains.Place a fish stick behind the couch and leave it there all summer.
TOY TEST Obtain a 55 gallon box of Legos (or you may substitute roofing tacks). Have a friend spread them all over the house. Put on a blindfold. Try to walk to the bathroom or kitchen. Do not scream because this would wake a child at night.
GROCERY STORE TEST Borrow one or two small animals (goats are best) and take them with you as you shop. Always keep them in sight and pay for anything they eat or damage.
DRESSING TEST Obtain one large, unhappy, live octopus. Stuff into a small net bag, making sure that all the arms stay inside.
FEEDING TEST Obtain a large plastic milk jug. Fill halfway with water. Suspend from the ceiling with a cord. Start the jug swinging. Try to insert spoonfuls of soggy cereal into the mouth of the jug, while pretending to be an airplane. Now dump the contents of the jug on the floor.
NIGHT TEST Prepare by obtaining a small cloth bag and fill it with 8-12 pounds of sand. Soak it thoroughly in water. At 3:00 p.m. begin to waltz and hum with the bag until 9:00 p.m. Lay down your bag and set your alarm for 10:00 p.m. Get up, pick up your bag, and sing every song you have ever heard. Make up about a dozen more and sing these too until 4:00 a.m. Set alarm for 5:00 a.m. Get up and make breakfast. Keep this up for 5 years. Look cheerful.
INGENUITY TEST Take an egg carton. Using a pair of scissors and pot of paint, turn it into an alligator. Now take a toilet paper tube and turn it into an attractive Christmas candle. AUTOMOBILE TEST Forget the BMW and buy a station wagon. Buy a chocolate ice cream cone and put it in the glove compartment. Leave it there. Get a dime. Stick it into the cassette player. Take a family size package of chocolate chip cookies. Mash them into the back seat. Run a garden rake along both sides of the car. There, perfect.
PHYSICAL TEST (Women)Obtain a large bean bag chair and attach it to the front of your clothes. Leave it there for 9 months. Now remove 10 of the beans. And try not to notice your closet full of clothes. You won't be wearing them for a while.
PHYSICAL TEST (Men)Go to the nearest drug store. Set your wallet on the counter. Ask the clerk to help himself. Now proceed to the nearest food store. Go to the head office and arrange for your paycheck to be directly deposited to the store. Purchase a newspaper. Go home and read it quietly for the last time.
FINAL ASSIGNMENT Find a couple who already have a small child. Lecture them on how they can improve their discipline, patience, tolerance, toilet training and child's table manners. Suggest many ways they can improve. Emphasize to them that they should never allow their children to run wild. Enjoy this experience. It will be the last time.

cleaning out my drawer

halle started saying "for ya" instead of for you. its really funny. she likes to stand on this stool and cook with me. i went up to get the camera and came down to see she had "cleaned" my drawer.

halle loves to play barbies. funny things, she says, "her name prince phillip" and then she asks tom which one you like best? she can always talk one of us into playing with her.

Funny Halle Stories

Yestarday me and Tom took the girls to the mall. Halle was so excited to push Keke around in her stroller. she kept pushing her up to random people and saying, "do you want to see my baby sister?" "her name is Kiera, she has brown eyes like me" She loved all the attention she was getting.
Halle loves to bash her head into Keke's stomach and move it around to make keke laugh! they are soo cute together.
This morning i tried to put underware on halle that had a skid mark. She said, "mom, those are nasty" , "i want another underwares". For her nap today she threw a fit about me trying to put on a pull up and take off her underware. she insisted she would not wet her bed. I knew she would just rip off the pull up after i left the room anyways, so I gave in and layed down a blanket. I'm can only fight so many battles!
Halle likes to "take a little rest" while we drive and hates if Keke makes any noise during her rest. She yells, "stop it Keke, I'm trying to rest!!" and it really gets her even madder when Keke just laughs and laughs!
